For some unknown reason, MapleStory works better when you do not install it and record it in the Windows registry. Uninstall and do not re-install MapleStory. If you can find a friend with a working MapleStory, copy the MapleStory folder, the directory tree is about 1.4 Gbytes, to your PC. Then, create a shortcut and execute MapleStory.
