The items aren't really that good. I takes a few days at most with very casual playing to get to level 30. With the reduced EXP curve, its like having free 2x all the way - add in new equipment, training spots and PQs, and it becomes a breeze. For the money you pay for a Maple Life package, you can almost get 24 hours of 2x experience cards, taking you all the way to level 40~50 or more in a week depending on how much time you invest.
Also, its ten times more rewarding to actually train your character than buy your way out of everything. This includes aforementioned 2x cards, which you could skip and save what equals more than 100 million mesos in just a few days. At the same time, you will grow much more accustomed to the way your class is played and how your skills are utilized.
To conclude: The only reason to buy the package would be if you had no time to play at all, in which case you wouldn't need a character at all.
The term "wall of text" only applies to ignorants who do not bother to read their opponent's mostly perfectly valid arguments before immaturily attempting to counter them.
