    Do GM's really do anything?
    Locked - Harassment

Before I even tell why I'm saying this, I'm going to tell you what this is based off. -.-

Well. I used to play in Windia, which is a cesspool of hackers. Since I'm a good person, I report it, walk away.

I see that same hacker there days after I reported. Also, isn't leech bannable?

There's always smega's going about saying "b>skele leech" To my understanding, every smega saying that is pretty much breaking the rules, right?

I remember when GM's actually did things. A year back, me and my friend were dging in the henesys pot shop. A level 7 came in and asked us what we were doing. I simply replied, "dropping." We went back to our game. I then dropped what was most dear to me, My Scroll for claw for attack 60%. The young man jumped up, " Auto-Looted" and CC'd. I was distraught. My friend reported it right way, and within an hour, we got whispered by a literate, friendly GM. He asked us what took place. We explained what happened. In 30 minutes that GM came back with my scroll. I was estatic. ;3

But now, if there's a hacker hacking in a public spot, nothing happens.

That's what I mean by saying I don't think GM's do anything anymore.

If I'm wrong, please speak up and tell me what's right.

GM's do work despite what you think.

Leeching is not bannable, only if real currency changes hands does it become against the ToS. While some hackers do get away for the time being, many others are caught and banned. You can see this on their twitter account in the amount of daily bans going on.

I'm very amazed by your story of the GM actually bringing back the scroll though as I've NEVER heard of anything of the such occurring. It even states on their main website any items lost through hacking and scamming cannot be returned.

    True story.

    Whatever bro.

Don't give me lip because GM's nowadays don't do anything.

Tell me a time recently where a GM actually evaluates the problem, and fixes it.

I don't see how what I said at all can be called lip. I've simply stated my views and supported them with facts.

On that note, I've just as of now got a resolution for my old ticket regarding my guild hack. It took some time yes, but it was handled well, and I'm pretty happy with the resolution. The same can be said for anyone affected with the Monster Book Glitch. Pretty much everyone will agree that their compensation really was above and beyond.

GM's aren't supposed to make things right for people who were scammed or hacked. They clearly state on the Nexon site that user security is their own responsibility and lost items cannot be returned.

Hackers and scammers are banned, but it does take proof, investigation, and in most cases, actually catching them in the act.

This isn't going to be a prove that GM's do their job thread, it just turns into a flame war. I've stated my opinion, and backed it up with what I have as facts, and you have your view too.

With that, I'm locking this thread. While you have your views and are welcome to them, the Nexon forums are not the place to bash any individual or specific group. This includes GM's.
