Hi everyone!
I have been wanting to add an update but you all are keeping me busy with your applications! Haha.
So here is the status... we are still working on the applications. The deadline to submit your application is this Friday, May 15, 2009 at midnight. Any applications received after this date and time will not be reviewed. We appreciate all your hard work and enthusiasm, reading these applications has been quite fun... no really I mean it!
I hope to open the application process up again in the future, so if you were not able to submit an application this time don't give up hope.
Now the last bit of news... the new program name! You all saw the results... but I must say the race was SooOOOOoooOooOoO tight that I decided to combine the two names and we are officially renaming the program:
The MapleWatch Leaf Brigade!!!
*insert heroic music sequence here*
MWLB for short.
We hope to be contacting you potential brigadeers soon with information on the next phase of the process.

Yes, MapleWatch Leaf Brigade a good name; it sounds official and important.

! The deadline is in 2 days...lame. I'm level 61 thanks to the 36 hour event, but I'm not sure if I can get to 70 before the midnight deadline. I am apprehensive that some idiots are going to screw up and ruin the program for everyone else to where it won't open for apps again so I'm going to have to train my butt off it seems. Call me a skeptic or pessimist if you'd like, whatever.
Leaf Brigade sounded better, but at least the abbreviation is bearable. Heck even Maple Leaf Brigade sounds a little more eloquent, but it was sweet of you to combine the names. Less butthurt people that way, right?

Doesn't hurt to submit your app anyways, Primm. :} If not there may be other programs you can apply for.

Semi-Offtopic for Hime - As our community liason can you, or will you, be posting a public update regarding the status of elemental wands/staves and whether or not them not penalizing elements to 75% is intentional or a bug that's going to be fixed but just really low priority?
It's been argued for months now, so a firm answer one way or the other would be appreciated by many who have spent small fortunes on these and now don't know if they're even going to be worth keeping.

Your best bet is to submit a ticket about inquiring about the status. I cannot make an official announcements/updates without approval.
We've submitted dozens of tickets and get back nothing but a canned "We will investigate the matter".
I'd rather not submit another to get that coupled with a "Duplicate tickets will result in corrective action" reply too.
If you can do some prodding to get a status and permission to share it you'd be a many times over hero to the entire magician class, , considering the amount of NX being spent to obtain these things, you'd really think it in corporate best interest to be as honest and up front about them as soon as possible to keep the goodwill going.
It did, sorry. There are three or four other threads screaming ranting and raving about this issue right now in places that do absolutely no good since only you guys can actually deal with the issue.
It was self serving but we're desperate for a little open communication here - It can't be that hard to say "yes this is a known issue, we'll fix it" or "no, we're doing it this way to be unique and it's going to stay like this" in an authoritive and definitive manner.

I do have a question though. Is the deadline on midnight of Friday meaning 1 minute after 11:59 PM, or midnight when it TURNS into Friday? I know it should be obvious, but I'm the type to remove all doubt. I'd rather not send my application in right after my finals

MapleWatch Leaf Brigade. Say it out loud a few times and you'll see what I mean. I think the suggested MapleLeaf Brigade sounds better, but hey, that's not my job ;)
Really though the name isn't that much of a big deal. I'm more excited for seeing this program put into action. I've been hoping for something along these lines since the day I first started playing. Wished for it to happen while I was hunting down hackers while training myself up to where I am now, and still currently am just as excited as I have always been.
With the amount of submissions, it would be a miracle if I were to be accepted, but looking around these forums I'm sure there will be some amazing people filling the ranks of the MWLB.
@ZpykeEboto, typically Midnight is the start of a new day. At least the way they have worded this, it will end as soon as the date changes over to May 15th. They may be able to clarify, but this is what I can read out of it, though many people make mistakes with dates and times when midnight is involved it could really be anything. If they wish for it to be the midnight the day after, they would be best to put May 15th at 11:59:59PM PST as the deadline. Also, to play it safe if you don't hear back, just fire off a quick application before the 15th. I know you're finishing finals, but the applications are relatively quick and painless. You don't actually have to bake the cake/pie/dessert for them until you're accepted. (The cake is not a lie)
I abhor the "Maple" part, and it's so sad because when I realized the poll was even there, I saw that Leaf Brigade was losing by a lot. If it wasn't for my smega spam in Bera and Scania I don't think it would have caught up.
It would be better as Maple Leaf Brigade or Maple Watch Brigade, they have a better flow to them.
MLB makes a god acronym to. It also is very close to "MIB" you know, the Men in Black -puts shades on- you won't remember a thing -flashy things Tiara- Now, it was always Leaf Brigade, Leaf Brigade won by a gagillion, which is a real number andyou made me a Leaf Brigadeer as soon as you realised that cheesecake was involved.

Also, they should have crazy cool uniforms, like leaf themed or something.

I have a question....
Did sending in 2 applications disqualify me, or hurt my chances. The first application I sent had the brackets in the subject name, and wasn't from the email tied to the account.
I resent the application with the right email, without the brackets, I hope that was the right way to do it.
