I realized that 'hehe' triggers the Smile Emote and 'cry' triggers the Cry emote.

...wouldn't it be nice if we could customize it?

Well here is my suggestion. That we be able to customize the triggers

If you take a look at this box I photoshopped you can see what I suggest.  I suggest that we be able to assign 10 words for each emote to trigger that emote. Then whenever we say that word the emote will automatically trigger.

I do get tired of F4-ing every time I type a word with "cry" in it. Though it was quite hilarious at all the crying people during the Mini Dungeon event lol. Every time you said the word crystal you'd F4.

I found out other emote triggers. Haha also makes you f2. Sob and sniff makes you f4 also. Thats all i know.

That's a great idea! With the excpetion of cry triggering f4 in words like crystal, I love how some emotes are triggered by speech. Another nice little way to make our chars a little more lifelike :)

It's a useful idea, not crazy and quite plausible.

 

I'd suggest removal of the triggers too. I don't use internet acronyms and I tend to type "haha" as opposed to "lol" meaning I end up smiling most of my mapling experience which becomes something of an annoyance.

Wow, I'm /really/ liking this idea. And it's not something I'd've thought of, so my mind is pretty much blown by how simple and yet awesome it would be. :)

Forum God brought up a good point though, because I too use "haha" a lot. It's kind of awkward when I'm in a party, but talking to another buddy in buddy chat or by whispering, because I'll constantly F2 and my party will wonder what the heck I'm so happy about. xD Maybe they should change it so that the triggers only work if they're in /all chat, or make that an option.
