I'm tied of people idolizing high levels.

I mean cmon people, there just high level's. No need to idolize them. Tiger, sure he was a great mapler, but he quit now. Same with Curryishott and Fangblade, there just high level's nothing else, unless it was a great actor, then you can idolize them. XD

Why can't they be idolized? To get to 200, they must've been either great hackers, or had immense patience. I don't know why they shouldn't.

Re: I'm tied of people idolizing high levels.

I personally don't idolize any of them, but why not? Like the actors are celebrities in real life, the high levels are the celebrities of Maplestory. With so much effort put into what they enjoy doing, they deserve at least some idolizing, right?

Sure one could argue "why would anybody idolize someone who has no life?", but what is "no life"? I can just as easily argue that the great actors have "no life". When really, that is their life. Or a big part of their life. And with that type of life, that just shows how dedicated and focused they are.

And with that type of dedication and focus, they're not "just high level's and nothing else". Maybe to your eyes, but to others, they are the "great actors" of Maplestory-- they are the great inspirations.

And who's to say the high levels aren't really "great actors" in real life? The word "great" being such a vague word.

Either that or do I sense some jealousy from you, thread starter ;D? Should I start idolizing you? *starts kneeling on both knees*

Re: I'm tied of people idolizing high levels.

Well, if you're a beginner actor, you would idolize some of the best actors, most likely. If you're an average gamer, I don't think there's anything wrong with respecting, idolizing (in the game) and being a fan of the high levels. Besides, some of them are really nice, why not try to be like them at least in game?

Come on, they need some acknowledgment for spending half their life rotting away in front of their computer. D:

I think that pretty much summarizes what I think of them.

And it also burned them hard. ^^

Treat me like you should have done,
    A time and times before,
    Elevate my feelings and,
    Take it to the core.

Yeah, someone had it right before me, you may look up to someone who is achieving or achieved the goal you want. I don't idolize them, I don't even idolize great actors, except maybe Maolcolm McDowell...I do idolize Stanley Kubrick though...he is God.

With that type of off-topic response from you, I think I just achieved what I was aiming for. :D

And yes, we know, but know that with every opinion, there's bound to be a counter-opinion.
