I want to ask few things from you Erceon
Erceon:I have two things to say about this whole thing. First of all, I
would like to know how you can claim to have "extensively researched"
each and every account when I know for a fact that there is absolutely
NO reason for some people to have been denied, myself included. And if
there WAS a reason, it certainly wasn't mentioned in the e-mail
received, instead getting a generic "Oh em gee we got too many
applications and decided to wait over 2 months to tell you no" message,
and then having you just throw up a list of "reasons" you denied
people. This hurt especially since I was one of the first few to send
my application in, and did not hear a word until yesterday, as opposed
to many people I know who applied after me and were denied at least a
month before I heard anything. And before you try to tell me that the
late response is "proof" I was being considered, let me pose my next
question/suggestion. Instead of throwing up a list of generic "reasons"
that you rejected the letters, why was it not discussed with each
individual? That way, instead of always instantly denying people every
time they apply, they could perhaps work to change whatever it was that
disqualified them? On that note, I'm severely disappointed that you
instead chose to "disqualifiy" perfectly good candidates just because
you wanted to hurry up and wrap up the screening process.
Did it ever occur to you that in some cases the process might've taken long since there were a good number of candidates that would've been picked, but there were too many of them so they had to cut out some people that would've otherwise made it. They at least replied. Have you ever been job hunting? After you apply, you'll be waiting for a response from then after that day. If there isn't a specific deadline, you'll be waiting for it for a long time and they're in no obligation to even inform you if you dont get hired. And that's how they mainly do it.
I myself was among the first people to send the application. A friend of mine did it before me and she hasn't gotten her reply yet. So yeah. I dont know if she's still being considered for it or they haven't done enough research on her or have they just been too busy. I dont know.
I do agree with you on the point that they didn't discuss with everyone, or at least with those who seemed to be good candidates, but there was some things that they could've wanted more answers on. I guess that would've slowed the process down when they would've had to wait for our replies to their answers. *shrugs*
Would you say they rushed it though? It took awfully long to me, considering they started to look through the applications already when the first ones started pouring in.
Secondly,
I do not believe that it is fair for you to sit there and require
certain things of the applicants. You know just as well as I that
requiring the providing a source of ID for an internet entity is not
only unethical, it is also illegal, especially for minors. Sure, you
might be able to skirt along that line by saying that you don't NEED
"proof of ID" to play Maple Story, and on that note I agree with you.
However, if you were planning on making the providing of ID a
requirement, you should have set the age of the player(not the
account!) to 16 and above. That would also deal with most of the
immaturity problem and prevent abuse of power, AND cut your workload in
about half.
They did ask for your age. Never did they say they would pick anyone who's immature to the program. I think most of the ones that were picked are over 18, but do have some that are younger and mature for their age. The ID question, they do have to know who you are, since they're hiring you to work for them, even though it's voluntary work. Some people dont have their own info listed for their account, like I dont, so they do need proof of who you are. This is the internet. You can easily say you're someone completely different. Minors would need their parents approval for this anyways since they asked for the ID.
Age doesn't prevent power abuse. Just because you're older, possible smarter and so on doesn't mean you wont get power hungry and go on a rampage once you get your guide account. It'd be those people who're more capable of pulling it off and not get caught immediately. It's a lot more dangerous that way. Younger more immature people would probably do something stupid and get busted right away.
I'm severely disappointed with this Nexon. Not just
because I felt that I would be a valuable asset to the program, but
because of how you seem to treat people. I mean, look at it from OUR
perspective for a minute. First you write a letter claiming you're
going to change, then you implement this program, which was GOOD! But
then you seem to pick the people that have either given you extensive
amounts of NX, beta testers, and/or active forum members. If these are
the "qualifications" you're looking for Nexon, next time just say so
instead of getting everyone's hopes up.
Who ever said they picked people who use a lot of NX? Who said they're beta testers? Who said they're active at the forum? They didn't say that anywhere. Dont blame them for something that you dont have any proof of. I've used a lot of money into this game. I've somewhere passed 4 digits easily. I still dont complain that I wasn't picked this time.
And just to say this, I dont think you would've made a good guide anyways, seeing how you came here to rant about not being picked. That just shows that you aren't that mature. Just think about how you're acting. If they do open the applications again, I dont think you have that good chances to get in now. This is just a personal opinion, but do think about it.
