Re: Technical Issues – Read Me First

ok, to put it simply, i appreciate the help hime, and i understand the corporate facade that you have to put up, but understand me when i say, im extremely frustrated with maple ever since nexon took over. my main problem, is that when i came back from AFK a while back, i could play maple just fine, then about 2 weeks ago i started having problems logging on again. i checked out the support forum, and i logged a ticket, and a few days later the problems seemed to clear up a bit. but then yesterday, i go to log on again to take care of a trade and i can log in. an error code started showing up, and then after 3 attempts, the error code fails to show up and all i can remember was something about 38... i understand your position hime, having droves of teenagers barking at your heels for answers and asking for help, but try to understand mine as well. i know you are under stress and this is your job (which understandably you may hate), but ive put money into this, just today in fact, and i cant even log in to use it. i hope you can understand the frustration hime, and im not going to add to your job by getting pissy, but please, look into this. im sure you already have your programming staff on it at full force and nexon is currently "devoting as much time and resource as deemed necessary", but whatever you can do to speed this process up, it would be greatly appreciated. im logging another ticket as you read this. HIME, dont let the fact that this is a job to you fog the fact that this is fun for the rest of us, and that not being able to log into our accounts is an extreme letdown.

112 and still grinding. hoping to be broas next 200 paladin xD

Re: Technical Issues – Read Me First

I recently have a new problem. Problem error 114 with GameGuard. I have tried everything, and yet I can not seem to get it to work. I'm thinking of even deleting my gameguard folder, but that's only required for Error 340. I have no programs running, except Virus scanware, basically everything I have running when I play MapleStory. No of the programs I have up normally does this. I've resetted my computer and scanned it, no viruses are found. Sometimes I try and it works until the Nexon song comes up, then stops in mid song, then I'm back at my desktop. Other times I log in as my magician, but I logg off, and there's a blank and dark screen. If I look closely, I see the MapleStory login page, but the boxes are blank. Then I simply return to the desktop after 4 minutes. *sigh* guess I'm not getting level 15 today...

    Ashley,

Thank you for reading through the guide first. The issue you currently have is being investigated. May I ask which Operating System you are using?

If you're playing MapleStory through the C:/ hard drive, close  C:/ and come back to it. It works most of the time.

Re: Technical Issues – Read Me First

My problem is somewhat similar to what other people are experiencing.

MapleStory was working pretty fine up until last friday, when I began to experience huge bouts of lag. So for friday night and saturday, I played when there were relatively no people online. It worked decently fine. However since then, I would be able to login fine and then once I selected my character and actually entered the game, I would continue to suffer lag, and either disconnect or lag out. It didn't matter the time I was playing. Most people I've talked to seem to think that it is my wireless internet connection which is the problem. However It worked fine before that, true I did suffer from being disconnected occasionally, but I could easily log back in and continue playing.  Now however, once I select my character, I get a black screen of death; but I can hear the music playing so I know something is going on. What seems like forever, but in actuality is probably betwen 3-10 minutes, it finally loads up. The screen I get is, where I'm either frozen in midair, or lagging a whole bunch. I usually try to log out and relogin but it just seems to be getting worse.

I've cleaned my computer, checked for malware, defragged, updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled maple.

This is a slightly older computer, but I just upgraded from Win 95 or 98 to XP Home Edition about four weeks ago, as it probably wouldn't of worked very well. I've played on my laptop which is a slightly newer compared to this computer, but is XP as well; and it works fine on that one.

I don't think it is the computer age itself, as I've run bigger games on this computer before.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Black Screen

On launching MapleStory the screen just blacks out and disconnects me after awhile.

This issue may erupt from monitor frequencies MapleStory does not play on. To find a frequency for your monitor, browse to your MapleStory folder and run the Setup.exe. You will be prompted a pop-up stating:

This program sets your monitor frequency up for MapleStory. Please run this program if your screen turns pitch black, or if you see a warning on your monitor on exceeding the range of frequency of your monitor. When the game starts, are you able to see the game clearly?

Click NO and follow the instructions.

Re: Technical Issues – Read Me First

    -Hime-:

    Localized versions of MapleStory

If you created your account at http://www.mapleglobal.com, you should be using the official Global MapleStory client. We also license out MapleStory to licensees in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and now including Europe. (http://www.maplestory.com) New registration from Europe after May 23rd, 2007 will not be able to play on the Global servers.

Because we must protect our licensees’ interests, users from those licensed regions are blocked from playing on MapleGlobal servers. If you are trying to log on the Global servers from the country/region mentioned above, you won’t be able to play.

Interesting...but why don't say this also in the download section? Just put a line which says "users from Europe *and other countries* please download the client on http:// *url of the correct version*... I've lost a day downloading and installing the client, I also signed up on this site...so I guess I have to delete this account and uninstall the client I installed right? I sent also a ticket 3 days ago and never got an answer...I'm not very happy with this, really Huh?

Re: Hime where are you when we need you?

    I AGREE TO THE SUBJECT!

hime, it looks like ur the only one from nexon that realy look at the forums, and therefore U GOT TO TELL NEXON about the cash shop error, the black screen error, and the dc after logging into character error. just explore the forum a bit and see how much ppl cant play and cant buy cash because of those problems, and if nexon will solve those problems because of u, then maybe the meaning of ur name will come true on these forums.
