He almost commited suicide over a game?.. I thought most people would commit sucide if they got hurt and pushed around by alot of people or got abused, or if their emo..But a GAME is more important? O_O

I have the exact same problem... I can log in and select world and character and channel and get 3-5 seconds of game play before I get disconnected.  I'm running Windows XP SP3 and have the latest DirectX.  On a second computer with the exact same configuration it works just fine.  This is in the US so isn't a Europe connection issue.  I have no firewall enabled on the system.

 Is there any way to diagnose connection issues like this and see what might be causing this problem?

For those who receieve the WSA startup error:

Vista:

Open the start menu--->>>Look for command prompt right-click command prompt and click run as administrator

Open the program that comes up

Type in "netsh winsock reset"

Press enter

Reboot your computer

 

XP:

Open the start menu--->>>click "Run"

Type in "cmd" and click "OK"

Type in "netsh winsock reset"

Press enter

Reboot your computer

If its like it needs to be elvated go to: 

Control Panel>Users>And uncheck the account control thingy.  Then restart your computer.It SHOULD work.

You realize that if it was a mistake on your end that you basically just gave away your card, right? These are PUBLIC forums. You should have logged a ticket instead of posting here. You can't edit your post either so....that sucks. It may not have been activated correctly at the store which is most likely the issue. If you have the receipt just take the card back with a print out of the screen telling you the card number is invalid. They will have to give you another one.

About the gr2d i downloaded the direct x and my drivers say they dont need any higher updates. Im almost absolutely sure my computer can run 3d graphics...Unless running on windows professional has anything to do with it cause I had to switch to it because windowsXP  isn't working at the moment.

Ok i was playing maple story today on my Fire mage it was level 68 Yesterday, i have been playing 24 hours stright and wasted over 3mil on postions..... i could only reach level 71 and i finally got my 3rd job.. so i was about 75% and i diside to take a break, i turn my pc screen off and leave my game on, i left my character there sitting in that Ghost Ship map for like 2-4 hours, i come back and it says i have been blocked from the game till March 24 2009... Im not asking for much.... i just want to play =(

You need to log a ticket explaining what you were doing, and then you have to be patient and wait for a response however long it takes.

Uninstall and Delete the stuff you've downloaded for Maple so far and use this instead:

http://download2.nexon.net/Game/MapleStory/FullVersion/MSSetupv65.exe

You won't need to patch or anything.

thanks hime but then again their's a small prob with the cannot connect to the server... You see my pc accepts MS turned my anti-virus and firewall off, internet connection is fine, no updates patches server checks whatso ever MS is going through yet i still get the same message got any ideas? :|
