HACKSHIELD UPDATE ERROR: 0x30000030(805306416):

I was getting this error message on my windows XP machine running Panda AntiVirus and none of the posted fixes worked. Here is what I did to remedy the problem.

1. Navigate to "System Restore"  by clicking: "Start", "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools", "System Restore"

2. Select "Restore Computer to an Earlier Time"

3. Choose to restore your computer to a date prior to September 16th ( I chose Sept 14th )

4. Let the restore process complete. ( It will reboot your system and then give you a message that the restore was successful upon completion)

5. Once your system has successfully restored and you have closed the "successfully restored" message box, Navigate to system "Services" by clicking: "Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", and then "Services"

6. (This is where you will have to use investigative skills) Look through the entire list of services. What you are looking for are services associated with your particular antivirus.

7. Once you have located the services associated with your antivirus, right-click on the service, and select "stop"  Make sure to "Stop" every service that is associated with your antivirus.

8. After, ALL of the antivirus services are stopped, navigate to the Maplestory Folder and launch  "Maplestory"

9. The hackshield patch should now successfully run and you should now be able to play Maplestory!  Woot!

 

I would suggest logging into the game then, logging out and rebooting your computer. This will turn the antivirus services back on and your system will be protected once again. Otherwise, if you do not reboot, you will not be protected from viruses. I hope this is helpful for some of you.

I know, the title sounds silly. But anyway i have this problem where when i Download the Downloader it stops and comes up with "Installing PMB" And it never starts. Anyone know a solution to this? Im trying disabling my firewall and downloading it and its going well so far, ill say if it works.

i'm sorry but that is the only possible solution that I know of for this problem...

other than that, try going on the administrater account of the computer and see if maplestory works that way

 

plus, next time you put your reply inside a quote...please bold your reply because it makes it hard to tell if you replied or you just quoted it

at first, i thought you just quoted the solution until you wrote seems no one tried to answer my question on the updating hackshield error...

have you even looked at the first post of this thread?

on the first problem...it shows TROUBLES WITH MAPLESTORY DOWNLOADER:

to bypass the problem with the downloader...download via the old fasioned way

Click Here to download MapleStory(V.78) the “old fashioned way”
 or Click Here to download MapleStory(V.78) using the downloader

Remember to click Save and not Run (for the old fashioned way), so you don't have to redownload the setup all over again if something happens

Im sorry for the question, I'm new to these forums.I never had problems before.I'm on the administrator account and it doesn't work.But I searched a bit and almost every people who got this error got rid of the problem by trying again and again.And after 5 days or more, it worked.That's strange.Anyway, thx for trying to help, this thread is useful.

Hmm, well I got a problem:

I Just installed Windows xp professional again and i installed maplestory, but when I want to play, it says i dont have good version, but I want to update it but then it says, you need to download the right version from the website, but the downloader doesn't work for me because it cant find WINHTTP.dll.

 Do you know what to do xD?

Maybe u should try downloading maple by the old fashioned way, if by downloader, u mean the maple story downloader.

if the graphics card driver is the problem, you will have to update your graphics card

1. Open your start menu, hit run (You should also be able to use the search box in Vista/Win7)
2. Type dxdiag and hit enter
3. Open the Display tab of the menu that opens
4. Are some of the fields blank, or not displaying any information that's actually information (For instance: Unknown)? Congratulations on finding your problem, you need a graphics driver.

Drivers are unique for each model series of graphics cards, so you'll need to find the right one. There's some tools out there that help, I don't know links to any off the top of my head though. Good luck

If the graphics card isn't your problem...there is a possibility that a registry problem is causing this error code

use the following program to fix your registry error(s)

3) At the bottom, you should see 1-click maintenance

4) It should help you fix any problems including registry problems

there could be other reasons why this error is caused, but so far...only two have been narrowed down (graphics card problem and registry problem)
