Hello, I'm new (Obviously) and I've been going through the tutorial. One thing I've noticed is at how much I fail at moment:

 

I can't figure out how to upgrade character stats.

The dude that tells me how how to do it, doesn't tell me where to find the STR/DEX/INT etc stuff. I open up the little ability thing with S, and I proceed to search for aforementioned stats via clicking on the small green buttons. The most I see is beginner abilities (Nimble feet, snail tossing, etc.) and my magic def, etc.

But no base stats.

Suprisingly, I haven't been able to find this answer, and I will love you forever if you could help me out <3

 

Hmmm i don't really get what your trying to say. Are you saying that you can't put skill points on?

Yep.Or at least I can't find where to put the points.

Try pressing A for abilities. S should be your skill window.

The tutorial guy just said to press "S" for abilities or something. Either that or I'm dyslexic.

Okay so if you want to put skill points you click "s" and there should be arrows beside the skill and click the up arrow to raise them. For Ability Points click the "s" (i think it was S) and on the bottom left-right on the window there should be the things that say dex/str/luk/int and then arrows also then just click the arrows to raise them or if you don't have the ability thingy on a key on the keyboard click "\" and change it to whatever you like.

Here is what I do/see:

 

I press "s" and a menu with pink word/box things appear. Among these is MP and HP.Under that is a connected box. It talkes about beginner skills and things I already know.  The only button that I see that could possible lead me to the INT/DEX etc skills is a green button that says "details"However the button proves to be futile, and  I am left looking at blue boxes/words that show weapon damage, magical defense, etc.

Eureka!!!!!!!!!! I have the MAGICAL ANSWER FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!  ROFL.

At first, I was a little perplexed with this question.  But I forgot about the new changes that had occurred in Maplestory!!!!

When you start as a Beginner (Noblesse for Cygnus Knights), you HAVE NO BASE STATS.  Your Base stats (INT, LUK, DEX) are leveled up FOR YOU.  You have no control over which base stats are leveled until you either become level 11 or until you select a job.  Nexon did this because people were too confused over which stats to level up, so Nexon decided to level them up FOR YOU!!!!!!  =D  How nice of them to do that!!!!

However, after you become level 11 or you select a job, you will be able to level up your own stats on your own by pressing the S button on your keyboard!

Huzzah! Props to all of you guys, I've seen ya'll help out on other's topics and I'm glad you guys are helping morons like us out, haha.

 But I have to say thanks to Imurry the most, after all he solved my problem. xD

Go to the bottom of the screen or near that at least.  You will see tiny little pictures of a book, bar graph thingy, bag etc.  Click on the bar graph thingy to do it

yea this was frustrating for me too- when i made a new character- it's str was always 11 or 12 which was warrior. I wanted to make a night walker, i got so frustrated so i forgot about it.
