In the Cash Shop, there are Hired Merchants for you to purchase. These merchants specifically state that they are Hired Merchants. Don’t confuse these with Permits as they are very different. Hired Merchants are there to sell your items for you – you won’t need to stand at your store to keep it open. This is not the case with Permits. With a Permit, you will need to stand at your store to keep it open. Carefully read the Cash Shop description to make sure that you are purchasing exactly what you want, a Hired Merchant or a Permit, as Cash Shop items cannot be exchanged or refunded.
Examples of Hired Merchants are the Mushroom House Elf, the Tiki Torch Store, the Cashier: Teddy Bear Clerk and Granny’s Food Stand, just to name a few! Since our Cash Shop is always changing, these Hired Merchants may or may not be in our Cash Shop as well as other Hired Merchants. Keep a look out for new Hired Merchants in our Cash Shop!
Now that you’ve hired a merchant, what’s next?
Well, it seems that Unions are everywhere these days. Hired Merchants have their own Union too! It’s to keep them from getting overworked, tired, and of course, to make sure that they’re receiving fair wages. The first thing that you will want to do is speak to the Union Chief, Frederick. He’s the one that negotiates Hired Merchant contracts. In fact, he’ll tell you all the details of the contract. For example, if your Hired Merchant works at the same spot for more than 24 hours straight, the Hired Merchant’s contract will expire and the Merchant will disappear. What does this mean? It means after 24 hours of staying open and not having a break, your Hired Merchant will get tired and leave. So don’t overwork your Hired Merchant!
My Hired Merchant disappeared!!!!!
If this happens, you will need to see Frederick at the Free Market Entrance and retrieve your items and Mesos. You will not be able to hire Merchants until you have retrieved all of your Mesos and items.
Fees:
There’s a 1% storing fee of the total sales and original price of the item that is charged to the user storing the Mesos and items at the Store Bank past 24 hours. Once the storing fee exceeds 100%, the Mesos and items stored will be donated to the Free Market Fund. What does this mean? This means that if you don’t pick up your items right away, they will lose their value and you will lose out on Mesos and possibly items!
Important!!!!!
Here are a few important notices about Hired Merchants.
You cannot have two Hired Merchants at the same time. Don’t waste your NX, it can’t be done. Don’t buy two Hired Merchants and then wonder why you can’t open up two Hired Merchant stores. We’re warning you now, it won’t. Believe us, we’ve tried. In fact, you get this pop-up message when you try to open up your second Hired Merchant that says “Your store is currently open in Channel XX, Free Market XX. Please use this after closing the store.” This is definitely not the way you want to use your NX because we won’t be able to give you your NX back. (For more information on refunds/exchanges please visit our Terms of Use.)
One thing you can do is…you can have a Hired Merchant and a Permit store open. Since a Permit is not a Hired Merchant, you will have no problem opening a Permit store at the same time as a Hired Merchant store.
One last note…
If your store’s name is inappropriate, we will change it. Don’t push it. We will change the store name, or close your store and you will need to set up your store again. So instead of wasting precious store time, do the right thing and keep your name clean. =)
Other than that…. sell Sell SELL!!!
