Hello Maplers!
The MapleWatch Leaf Brigade will be recruiting new members
soon! Positions will be opening shortly,
so keep your eyes open for when to submit your application.
In the meantime, I’d like to provide some information
regarding the MapleWatch Leaf Brigade. Some of this will be a refresher for those
that have read previous posts. =)
What is the
MapleWatch Leaf Brigade (MWLB)?
The MWLB is a volunteer program for Maplers. It’s where you,
as a Maple player, can make a difference!
MWLB members are volunteers that patrol servers and assist with finding
players that violate our Terms of Use. Members are given a special account with MWLB
characters and have the ability to flag players for investigation. Although this is similar to the in-game reporting
function, one important difference is that evidence is submitted with these
reports. A Maple GM will investigate
flagged players, examine the evidence provided by MWLB members, and take the
appropriate course of action.
MapleWatch Leaf Brigade members communicate directly with Maple
GMs to help keep MapleStory clean! However,
because they are not official Nexon representatives, they do not have the
ability to assist players with their accounts, nor should they be used as
channels of communication for Customer Support.
We know how cool
this sounds, but we are also aware that such privileges could be abused.
The members of the MWLB are expected to handle themselves in
a professional manner. Any MWLB member
found abusing their privileges will be immediately removed from the
program. We carefully monitor MWLB
members to prevent abuse from occurring.
Maybe you’re still
not sure about this. Well, read on!
We’re here to help answer your questions and concerns. Here’s some helpful information regarding the
MWLB.
- Members of the MapleWatch Leaf Brigade must be in our service area. If you can create a MapleStory character and
successfully log into it, you are in our service area. One common misconception is that you must
live in the Los Angeles area to qualify, and this is not the case! It
doesn’t matter where you are; as long as you reside in our service area, you
can apply to be an MWLB member (pending another restrictions listed later in
this post).
- MWLB members receive a completely separate account
to patrol on. You will not be patrolling on your play account.
- To prevent bias in patrolling, we do not allow
MWLB members to patrol a server that they have characters on. Now, if you have characters on all servers,
but really only play on one or two, please don’t be discouraged from applying. We’ll try to work with you! Remember, we are simply trying to prevent
abuse of the MWLB accounts.
- MWLB members do not have access to account
information. Additionally, just like
GMs, they will never ask players for their account information or pin number.
- MWLB accounts are completely separate from play
accounts. This means that MWLB members do
not play or quest on their MWLB accounts. There are no exceptions to this rule. These accounts are for MWLB use only!
- This program is volunteer-based. This means that you don’t have to catch a
certain number of rule-breakers or spend a certain amount of time patrolling. How much time you spend patrolling servers is
up to you.
- Going on vacation? If you’re worried that a long vacation will
disqualify you from the program, don’t be! MWLB members are more than welcome to go on
vacation. Any long hiatus from the game
will be discussed, and your MWLB status will be determined on a case-by-case
basis.
- MWLB members are anonymous. They’re like secret agents; they keep their
watcher lives separate from their MapleStory character lives.
Sounds like a lot
of work. What are the benefits?
We’re glad you asked!
Joining the MWLB affords you several benefits. Some of these benefits are listed below, but
you never know – there may be more…
- MWLB members have the ability to report players
that they believe are violating our Terms of Use. Being part of the MWLB gives you the
opportunity to make a difference in the Maple World!
- MWLB members have a direct line of communication
with the MapleStory GMs. You’ll have the
opportunity to interact directly with the MapleStory GMs. How cool is that?
- Patrolling MapleStory will provide you with a
completely different view of how MapleStory works. In the words of one MWLB
member, “The program really opened my eyes to how things work behind the
scenes.” It’s like a backstage pass to
MapleStory!
- The sense of accomplishment you feel when a
player you report gets banned.
- The amazing MWLB cap – complete with a dancing
Maple leaf design!
- Shhh… don’t tell anyone, but there’s talk about
MWLB members being able to participate in GM events.
Wow! Sounds awesome, right? Ready to find out how to join?
It all starts with an application. You’ll need to fill out the Phase 1
application and submit it before the deadline. But before you go and fill out your
application, please read the following restrictions regarding MWLB eligibility.
1.
Any player found to have a history of abuse on
their account(s) in any of our games
will not be considered for this program.
2.
You must have a MapleStory character that is
level 70 or higher, OR have a level 45 or higher character on an account that
was created more than two years before your application date.
3.
You must submit your application before the
deadline. Any applications submitted
after the deadline will neither be considered nor responded to.
Once applications are received and reviewed, an email will
be sent back to you regarding your application status. If you pass the initial application phase, you
will then have to participate in a timed interview, as well as fill out a
questionnaire before we make our final decision. It may sound like a lot of work, but it’s
definitely worth the effort! We hope you
enjoy this opportunity to work with GMs and help maintain the integrity of your
game!
Read this
thread would you kindly?
