We have recently discovered a conflict between MapleStoryand McAfee security systems that will incorrectly cause Hackshield to close MapleStory. 11/20 Community Diary: With my Shadow Resistant Teddy Bear, I fought worlds.

You'll find that the Pc Tools anti-virus has the same problem. It gives a false positive and blocks running until you ignore the problem. Also when scanning it will move the file to quarantine - thus needing you to move it back from the vault.

I can say i have the same problem but my game doesnt shut down.Everytime i start maple McAfee says it has blocked a Trojan and it was quarantined. But the game runs fine other than that

then it means that you have to add the quarantined file into the exceptions list so that your antivirus recognizes that the qurantined file isn't harmful to your computer

This is for error 101 right? Well, what happened if you did not use any anti-virus and still got the error?

What if you don't have McAfee or the windows firewall is off? How do you solve the problem?

I'm pretty much done with Maple until this is resolved. Why should I have to download a 65mb data file? That's a stupid hassle. You guys should work it out with McAfee in a way that my program will just update itself.

i having problems with mcafee bt net protect as it blocked some of the files when playing maplestory and it kept having game lag...

I useMcAfee, but MS just doesn't respond to what I do. Whn i open it it just keeps loading and l that loads is the "games start" button and the bottom thngeith the mushroom. Pease help me

i highly doubt this has something to do with mcafee...but it is possible

but you can give this solution a try (some people claimed it worked...and others claimed it didn't work)

you could try doing the following to see if it fixes your problem:

1) click Start

2) click Run (for Vista users, run COMMAND PROMPT AS ADMINISTRATOR(just look for command prompt and right-click it and click run as administrator)

3) For XP users, type cmd in the run box

4) type in netsh winsock reset

5) If it worked succesfully, it will tell you to restart your computer

6) If it requires elevation go to Users and uncheck the account control thing [Control Panel>User Accounts and Family Safety>User Accounts>Turn User Account Control on or off] (I dont know where this account control thing for XP is...this is for Vista)

7) Now try the netsh winsock reset thing again...and see if it works 

If it does work...please let me know...xD

Error Code: 00000002, Error Code: 00000204, Error Code: e401000c or Error Code: 00000203

Please reboot your computer and follow the directions below on reinstalling HackShield.

 

1.    Erase all the files in the HShield folder in the MapleStory installation folder.

2.    Download http://maplestory.nexon.net/download/hackshield/HShield.zip.

3.    Copy and paste all the files into the HShield folder inside your MapleStory installation folder.

4.    Launch MapleStory.

Anyways, i know how ot solve it.  Open McAfee, go to "Advanced Menu" and on the side hit "configure".  Go to computer and files and where is says "Virus Protection Enabled" click the "advanced" button below.  Once you're there it should say "Scan for unknown virusis"  check the box off, re-download maple and it should work.

Also, the bad thing about that, is if your a person who like to download a bunch of stuff, it wont auto detect it.
