I've read that with Rank C Counteratteck you can counter with magic - and I've seen the video showing that you can do it with Firebolt. But I can't find anything explaining just how to pull this miracle off. How is it doen? Are there requirements above Rank C Counterattack? Any insight would be appreciated.

They're drops - while some monsters may have better chances, I've seen them drop off of all manner of creature. Although they are exceedingly rare on lower level beasties. I've seen three in the last month.

The Kite shield grants a passive defense. However, when you successfully defend while using one, it grants an additional 35 (I thought it was 30, but could be wrong.)

Okay, so still learning some of the basics and was wondering if there is a trick to defending. Is it really as simple as activating the DEFEND ability? It never seems to really work for me. Yeah. Being that it was a suit it took two enchantments. Both turned out to be negative. Ended up trading Balance -28 for Max dam -6 Min Dam -2. And a -2 INT just for good measure. Starting to not have fun with this game.   I'm beginning to wonder why we should help these villagers AT ALL. 

Any surefire way to get rid of an enchantment on an item out there? I spent an hour and lots of cash to tailor a Def 2 prot 1 Suit, then put on an enchantment...only to get SCREWED with a PAPER CRAFTED Rank B - the only effect of which is to drop Balance by 28. HELP! I did the earring quest - but didn't have any mana herbs to feed the bear. When I eventually got them and went to Tarlach  - it wouldn't give me the option to feed him the herbs.
