Why aren't crossbows out? This longbow sucks.

OP is not talking about ingots, but bars. Each bar requires anywhere from 1 to 5 ingots, with the mean around 2 ingots if you have at least rank 9 smithing. I'd price it at roughly 2x the ingot cost, so iron bars should be worth around 3k. They are only used for handicraft rank C and up. Silver bars are useless. NPC them.
