How to Change Mabinogi's In-Game Music

This an awesome skill to use if you are getting tired of the built-in music.

Follow these steps to change the music for any area or NPC:

    1. Locate your Mabinogi installation directory (Usually "C:\Mabinogi" or "C:\Program Files\Mabinogi").

    2. Open the "music" folder in your Mabinogi installation directory.

    3. Create a folder called "backup".

    4. Move the music you want to change to "backup".

    5. Copy YOUR music to the "music" folder.

    6. Change the names of the copied files to the names of the originals (e.g. If you moved "Town_Dunbarton" to "backup" and placed "Rock" in its place, you will have to change "Rock" to "Town_Dunbarton").

    7. Start Mabinogi, you will hear your own music in place of the built-in music.

    Some common music:

"Town_townname" is the music for town townname

"Dungeon_5" is the music for Alby Dungeon

"Boss" is the music for the Giant Spider at the end of Alby Dungeon

"Title" is the music for the main start-up screen

"NPC_name" is the music for NPC name

Technically this is cliant side, and "may" be permitted, I'll have to read over the disclaimer... I know on a previous game I played you could do this freely with no altercations or penalties.

    It's fine.

No need to get so in depth.

I guess I can play nice on the forums.

There are plenty of games you can get banned for doing that. As long as it is client side, we should be fine, which changing the music is. I have nx id rather not get banned.

P.S. Going in depth is what I do.

I agree with above poster. Anyway, if you want to put on your own music without getting banned, just get to the settings, and mute all the mabinogi sounds... Then, put on your own music, iTunes, Windows Media Player, Youtube, etc. Turn up your computer's volume. And there, your own music in MabiNogi...

The problem with this is the music for an area would be inconsistent and it may slow down your computer making the game lag.

Geez, if you could get banned for this, it's not like they can find out.

This isn't altering the client directly after all. I think.

Re: How to Change Mabinogi's In-Game Music

I'm tempted to say that they won't be worried about this.  It's one of the big reasons why the ingame music is set into easy to reach MP3s instead of put into the game itself.

So go ahead and change them out.  I know I might do it for some of the dungeon music.. and maybe Tir Chronaill...of course I'll need a song that fits better.

Ever felt like this some days?

Try Monster Machine by DJ E-maxx.

If you have a tart, then are given another one, you would be retarted.
