Not as good as you, but I snoozed till stage 3's boss! XD But I couldn't figure out my hitbox size, so the nova bullets got me too much... that and my own ship's shots made it extremely difficult to see stuff... worse than playing Marisa with Illusion Laser in Touhou.... I still like Touhou more, haha...

    There there *pat pat*

You'll find that there's a LOT of safe-spots when playing this game, and that usually only minimal movement is required to dodge enemy shots. Figure out a particular enemy's shot pattern and just sit slight off to the side of its shots and lol as they get blown up. Also, don't just stick to the bottom of the screen if you are doing that for more distance/reaction time. It pays to have some room behind yourself to back up a bit if you notice a bullet coming at you a little late and you don't have enough time to just move sideways to dodge it. Also, it's a good way to start learning how to use the screen to find areas of lesser bullet density.

I see, but how can you keep up with everything going on the screen, let alone finding a safe spot.

You don't try to keep up with everything on the screen: only track inbound projectiles. All the rest are danmaku paranoia (couldn't resist!), ie: there to fill the screen and make you nervous. First learn to focus on a small area around your ship and figure out how much or how little you need to shift around to dodge stuff headed your way, then as you get more comfortable with that, you'll eventually be able to relax your vision to cover the entire screen and still know exactly what's going on around your ship in order to navigate and such.

As a final note, when starting out with these types of games, play for survival, not score. The points don't matter, like in Whose Line Is It Anyway! Well, maybe to Kitae and others they do =P

    Lots of experience.

Us touhoufags love to play bullet hells.

This is about right for difficulty, for me anyways. I know some crazy people who find this really easy and snooze through this too.
