    Statue-Making for Dummies!

I'm no good at telling the ultimate way of doing anything.... so just bear with me on this...
This is a tip for those who have a hard time with their mimics and in no way set for those self-proclaimed PROs out there who have their own methods. Consider it a small advice....

I've seen alot of folks having a hard time with making statues or getting  their idiotic mimic to swallow on command. I still have that problem from time to time so I'm in no way better. So I hope this lil' insight will help some out there find their own loophole so they can get those statues that's been floating around.

You can use any race as the attacker/trainer, but (personally) having an elf with a decent ranked Mirrage Missle works the best (and the least frustrating) by far.

    Requirements
    ============

    - Mimic (very important)
    - A weak weapon/bare hands, unless you and your mimic are high LV'd enough to take on a foe that's a bit strong. (optional)
    - Command Mode set (optional, but advised)
    - HP/MP potions
    - Inventory space
    - Time
    - Patience

    Steps
    ============

[NOTE: Make sure you know where your pet stands as far as its level/power LV. There are ways to find out.... but you need to search for it.]

    [For Melee-specific Humans/Giants/Elves]
It'll be really, really difficult for you to get a statue. I'm not going to lie to you. Let alone many who are way too strong to take out some of the desired monsters or even wittle down the monster's HP to 5% or less (yes, you heard me, THAT LOW). That's why I mentioned having weapons that makes your attack weaker than what they already are. Having them enchanted for a weaker attack is also advised for this method; but this is all optional.

    1.
Prepare your mimic for the Swallow Skill. You can either have the words "swallow!" already typed at the ready or have the actual skill placed in Skill Keys ready for you to hit at the ready.
    2. Make sure you know how the targeted monsters works. If it multi-aggos and there's alot of them, try to single em' out by either eliminating the rest of have em' in a spot that none of the other monsters with bother you and your pet.
    3.  From the start, have your pet "Sit" at a far, safe place. Reason being is that the wooden juggernaut likes to attack first and do what you really want em' to do second.
4a. Attack the desired monster. Hope that it's just enough to get devoured. Partying with a weaker player is better, but quite evil. :p
4b. You can have the mimic fight them if you like, but it's seriously difficult to pull off the Swallow Skill while the monster is attacking the mimic. The skill takes rather long to load and it's very likely that the skill will get cancelled by the monster's attack. However you can start off withanother pet that's weak and let it fight the monster, then summon your mimic, and start off at Step 3 then Step 5 and continue.
    5. Once it's low enough, right-click on the monster (easier if you use CTRL then Right-Click) and have the mimic run/hop after it.
    - Oh, and it might help if you run away from the mob or Play Dead... You know.... so you won't die.
    6. IMMEDIATELY hit Enter + Enter (since you should already have it typed) or press the designated F Key (if you had a set for the F Keys) to make the mimic run after the injured pokemo-- foe.
    7. Nom nom nom!
    8. Statue!!!

    [For Ranged-specific Humans/Giants/Elves]
It's a bit easier for many when it comes to range. It's actually a crime really. Archers have it good especially if you're an elf with Mirage Missle. Mages are okay as well, but the criticals are a real pain when you use magic. Still you must make sure that the monsters's HP is 5% or less. Having it on Finish isn't going to count. If you're too strong with some monsters, try a weaker weapon/magic. As above, enchants that make your attacks weaker helps, but that's a no-brainer.

Reason being is that the wooden fingertrap likes to attack first and do what you really want em' to do second. But, as a ranged player, sometimes having the mimic close to the monster might be a better choice since the monster has to run after you right after you hit it. You'll have to experiment to see what works for your attacking style and strenght.
4c. For those who don the Mirrage Missle, this is such an easy task. .......Just MM it or a mob that's close to have it infected. It should get low enough to be at 0 HP. Maybe a few shots at it after you Missle'd it will help speed things along.
    5. Once it's low enough, right-click on the monster (easier if you use CTRL then Right-Click) and have the mimic run/hop after it.
    - Oh, and it might help if you run away from the mob, Hide, or Play Dead... You know.... so you won't die... unless you like to die alot.
    6. IMMEDIATELY hit Enter + Enter (since you should already have it typed) or press the designated F Key (if you had a set for the F Keys) to make the mimic run after the injured digimo-- foe.
    7. Nom nom nom!
    8. Statue!!!

So that's it.... Oh, one final note. There is a chance that the mimic will just..... stand there near the mob with Swallow ready. It's not your fault or anything. I guess it has to eat it in a certain way. Still be on your guard til you see the signs of victory.

Good luck! And if there are any other tips out there, feel free to clue us novices in.
