    PART-TIME JOBS

Players can ask an NPC if part-time jobs are available by talking to the NPC and clicking start conversation using the Travel Diary and selecting the "Part-Time Jobs" option. The NPC will give a general outline of the job he or she wants done as well as the rewards, and the player can refuse or accept the job based on that.

By successfully completing many jobs, one may become close friends with the NPC, and may be given more difficult tasks.

You may do many part-time jobs in a day, but only one job of the same type each day. For example, you cannot do the Healer-type part-time job in both Dunbarton and Tir Chonaill in the same day. The NPCs won't allow it. It is best to do jobs on Baltane (Tuesday) since rewards are increased then.

  • Beginner - Complete 0 ~ 50 times
  • Intermediate Compelete 51 ~ 100 times and success rate ≥ 70%
  • Advanced Complete ≥ 101 times and success rate ≥
  • here are the part time jobs availible

Re: Guidance Goodness! Event Guidelines - Updated

Hmm, I have been through many dungeon most of my free time... I haven't been to Alby Basic before or intermediate alby... same with fiodh intermediate for one... so yeah..

    Alby Dungeon

Well, Alby dungeon is the first dungeon you will come when you're on your 2nd main quest. There is a few rooms in there, like in beginners, its a little, but if its regular, it should be a lot more (you can get beginner pass for Alby dungeon from Trefor, just on the road to Alby dungeon).

Alby Dungeon monsters (in room, or hallway)

    White spiderling (beginner dungeon only)

    White spider

    Meek bat

    Old mimic

    Country rat

Young country rat (beginner dungeon only)

    Alby Boss Room

    Red spiderling (beginner dungeon only)

     Giant spiderling (beginner dungeon only)

    Red spider

    Giant spider

    Strategies/Tactics

Well... it should be easy... First, if you're going to melee, you should attack the monsters just regularly. If you're going to range, you should bring plenty of arrows, and range them regularly. If your using magic, you should be fine, just be careful of the mimics, since they attack you suddenly after opening many chest in a room. Just use magic on them regularly. For the boss room, if you're gonna melee in there, you should either hit them normal, or use smash, then counterattack after the monster is knocked back down. Be careful that counter eats a lot of stamina when your still in counterattack. If you don't have counterattack, use defense, if you don't have counterattack or defense, you maybe doomed for the boss room. All you have to do is, smash or normal hit the Giant spider, and then either counterattack or defense, if it's using a skill, quickly use smash on it, since all spiders use the skill defense. After using defense, quickly hit it until you knock it back, then after knocking it back, use either counterattack or defense again, if you used counterattack, you should use defense after using counterattack, because if you use counterattack on the monster again after using counterattack, you will pause until your back in your combat stance, which will make the monster have time to hit you, but if you get lucky, it maybe use a skill. Anyways, hit it, use defense or counterattack, and then use defense, and repeat until the monster is dead. After the monster is dead, quickly use defense skill, because the monster that had a "!" on it's head may attack you after killing the monster.

    Ciar Dungeon

This dungeon is pretty good for farming money, just for basic run with Party Quest, or try soloing beginner dungeon of it (you can get beginner pass from Ranald from school).

    Beginner Ciar Boss room

    Small Golem

    Normal Ciar Boss room

    Golem

    Metal Skeleton x 6

    Basic Ciar Boss room

    Golem (Black)

    Metal Skeleton (armored) x 6

Intermediate Ciar boss room for 4

Golem x 2 (Red and Blue, watch the cutscene as they fight :P)

    Metal Skeleton (armored) x 6

Intermediate Ciar boss room for 2

    Golem (Red)

    Metal Skeleton (armored) x 6

Intermediate Ciar boss room for 1 (it was nearly hell for me...)

    Golem (Blue)

    Metal Skeleton (armored) x 6

    Strategies/Tactics

Well... Beginner is easy, just be careful of those young goblin archers, I also prefer melee the whole dungeon on beginners. At Ciar beginner boss room, small golem is pretty easy, just either smash or attack it. When Golem's HP is 1/2 and you knock it back, Golem will increase his size and his strength will also increase, I say hit it against the wall, and keep hitting Golem, he uses skill too much, so you can hit it as much as you can. For normal, kinda harder, since those poison goblins are multi-aggro (aggressive), I'd stay in the corner and use icebolt. And for goblin archers... careful since they are also multi-aggro, just be careful in a room of them with orbs. Well, use 2 icebolts on goblin archer to get it out of range attack. So use the first icebolt on a goblin archer that isn't or is attacking someone, then after it gets out it's combat stance, and then when it runs, use the last icebolt on it, then go on defense, and watch the goblin archer runs to you and hits you, also the goblin archer will use smash or defense on you. On normal ciar boss, take those metal skeleton out first, but if Golem appears next to the door, quickly run all the way to the other door, which is closed. Those metal skeletons are a pain... So first, use 1 icebolt on it, when it gets to it's combat stance, fire another icebolt on it, and then get to counterattack. After it gets knocked back down, quickly charge your icebolt, and fire it again, and then use counter. Repeat this until it's dead, but be careful that it can also use range. So when it get it's bow out, quickly run away and charge your icebolt and use it on the skeleton, and then counter. It should be out of range attack, and be running to you to attack you. After killing those skeletons, get like 2 or more people to smash Golem and use windmill when its at the wall. So when it's at the wall, smash Golem, and then use windmill, after that, use smash again, and windmill again. Repeat it until it's dead, but it can hit you when your either smashing or windmilling, so be careful. Hmm... Ciar Basic... Careful of those Ratman, because when they get knocked back, they will try counterattack with windmill, so either icebolt it once and go to defense , or go near it with defense and watch him spin, and then attack it. When it's going to use smash, try not to be fooled when you are going to regular attack it, because the Ratman will sometimes will cancel it's smash and attack you regularly as well. For those laghodessa, they are like spiders, but they hit harder and causes more wound. So you can kill it like a spider, just be careful since they hit harder, by the way, when you come to a room with the sickle and spiked laghodessa, be careful since those 2 aren't the same, so when you are near either a sickle or spiked laghodessa, and you are fighting a spiked or a sickle, the sickle you are fighting, you will be attacked by a spiked one, or you're fighting a spiked one, and you will be attacked by a sickle one, so drag one of those laghodessa out and kill it. Snakes... I HATE SNAKES! Attack one type of a snake, like a brown snake, just kill it, use either smash or regular attack it, then use counter, then use defense, then use counter and then defense. Repeat until it's dead, careful, after you kill one, use defense skill immediately if there is a snake near you. For Ciar Basic Boss room, those skeleton are armored, so when you hit them regularly, they might stop your attacking and attack you. So basically, they are using defense when they are being attacked, just, you can't see it. First, hit the metal skeleton with 2 icebolt, hit it once, and when it's in it's combat stance, hit it again, and use counterattack. This requires a lot of stamina, so be prepared to kill them. After knocking it back with counterattack, use one icebolt on it again, and use counterattack, repeat until it's dead, be careful of it's range attacks, if you read on how to kill those metal skeletons on the Ciar normal, then you should do the same with them. My god... Ciar intermediate... kinda hard, but it was fun... lol, those burgundy sickle laghodessa attack with no warning, so be careful. Blue Ratman are the same with Ratman. Careful of those Black snakes, they are mean... At Ciar intermediate Boss room, you should watch the cutscene, it kinda funny, lol, there is 2 Golems, and 6 metal skeletons with armor, since there is 2 golem, it's like Ciar Basic boss room. Just get rid of those 6 metal skeletons like in Basic, beware that Golem hits over 1000 damage with windmill (i survived it though!), and try kill Golem like in basic, just they hit very harder and had a lot of HP. Do the same to the other Golem.

    Math Dungeon

Ehh... it's kinda easy, just hate those archers and poison kobolds... it's an 'OK' party quest of killing kobolds for money.

    Monsters in normal

    Kobold

    Poison kobold

    Kobold archer

    Gray town rat

    Pocket rat (or mouse? forgot)

    Giant skeleton

    Bat

    Black spider

    Red spider

    Mimic

    Math Normal Boss room

    Hellhound x 3

    Strategies/Tactics

When you meet a room of archers, quickly move the corner of the room that has no archer or barely any of them, and stay in normal mode, because you will be caught most likely in combat mode, charge you icebolt and hit the archer twice, once while its not looking or looking, and then hit it again when it goes to range mode. When you come to a room of Pocket mouse of rat, don't use magic, they use magic, but if you use magic, they will heal a little bit, and will grow big and gets stronger. If you come to a room of Giant skeletons, don't be afraid, since they are big, but they are stupid and slow on attacking. Just hit it regularly or smash it, and then after you knock it back, when it uses a skill, quickly run away, but when it stands there with the skill, walk near it, but don't hit it, wait until the skeleton cancels it's skill and then attack it, if the skeleton is running after you with a skill, attack it regularly, it is a smash, since they are running with a skill to you. Repeat until it's dead. When you get to the boss room, charge either your icebolt, firebolt, or thunderbolt and then lure one of the Hellhound, and then kill it. They are like those wolves like gray or white wolves, just they use firebolt. It uses defense, smash, and firebolt. And the 3 Hellhounds are Multi-aggro.

    Rabbie Dungeon

I prefer going to basic dungeon since they drop a bunch of fomor scrolls for money :P, when you go with a party, you will be fighting gold goblins. If you're soloing it, then you will be fighting a Succubus.

    Monsters in Normal

    Skeleton

    Skeleton wolf

    Red skeleton

    Mimic

    Metal skeleton

Skeleton soldier (not sure, can't remember)

    Monsters in basic

    Skeleton (armored)

    Spiked laghodessa

    Red skeleton (armored)

    Metal skeleton (armored)

    King mimic

    Gray town rat

    Rabbie Normal boss room

    Gold goblin (with a party)

    Goblin archer  (with a party)

    Black Succubus (solo)

    Rabbie Basic Boss room

    Lycanthrope (with a party)

    Red Succubus (solo)

     Strategies/Tactics

Well those skeleton are easy to kill, after knocking it back down, and it doesn't use a skill, hit it again, if it uses a skill, run away, if its running towards you with a skill, attack it regularly, and when it's standing still with a skill, stay next to it and don't attack it yet, until it cancel it's skill and then attack it again until it's dead. Do the same with the red skeleton, careful with Metal since they can windmill. Just try kill it like in Ciar Basic boss room. It's very rare if you find yourself with skeleton soldiers, do the same with them like metal skeletons. In Basics, kill all the skeletons with ice counter, icebolt, then use counter, icebolt then counter, and then repeat until they are dead. I don't have any tactics with those Succubus yet.. But I will find out sooner or later if I get some free time. When you are fighting those Lycanthrope, use only windmill, since they will level up and heal when you either use magic, range, or any melee skills or attacking it regularly.

    Barri Dungeon

I only come there for some iron ores, or for church volunteering in Bangor.

    Monsters in Normal

    Goblin

    Goblin archer

    Poison goblin

    Mimic

    Great mimic

    Imp

    Banner imp

    Black spider

    Monsters in basic

    Brown gremlin

    Gray gremlin

    Green gremlin

    Flying sword

    Gorgon

    Spike laghodessa

    Barri normal boss room

    Ogre warrior x 5?

    Barri basic boss room

    Werewolf x 5? (forgot)

    Gray gremlin (forgot how many)

    Strategies/Tactics

Well, it's almost like Ciar strategy and tactics way. And when you come to imps, just smash or attack it regularly, and then use defense and walk near it when it's using defense or counter. Then it will use lighting bolt on you, just quickly get out of defense and attack it. For banner imps, they have very low HP, so just attack and kill it. In basics, those gremlin are very heavy, so when you attack one, and when it says "AAAAAAA" or "Stop Stop!" or anything that is being weak, or begging for mercy, just run to it and kill it. Or when you hit it and knock it back, use counter, and it will fly around you and then hit you sooner or later. The flying swords are easy, when you knock it back, use defense skill and walk near it when it's in defense. When it's in smash, attack it regularly, and when you're near it, and it uses lighting bolt, quickly get out of defense and attack it, repeat until it's dead. Gorgons.... I don't have anything yet on them. All I did was attack it once, and then use windmill, just be careful not to be near any of the other gorgon, since they are multi-aggro. Don't smash it at start too, since they will attack back. At Barri boss room, normal, you might need a party member to help you out, since those ogre warriors uses earthquake too, and they do splash attack too. So you need to use range and counter support, just use range or the other will use range, and you or the other will use counterattack on you. So when the ogre warrior comes to you and you missed, and they attack you, the person will counterattack the ogre warrior, repeat until it's dead. In Barri basic, just ice counter the werewolves and you will be fine. They have heavy stance, so be careful.

Tip: After killing a monster, look around you and see which monster that will attack you next.

Fiodh Dungeon Bah, I only come here whenever I get bored or help people with their G1 quest for getting the magic powder in there.

    Monster in Normal

    Jackal

    Werewolf

    Black spider

    Blue snake

    Gorgon

    Mimic

    Red grizzly bear

    Red spider

    White snake

    Wisp

    Green gremlin

    Fiodh boss room

    Flying sword x 5? (forgot)

    Small golem (forest)

    Strategies/Tactics

Well, those Jackals are like the white and black wolves. Just kill them like a white wolf, when you encounter a werewolf, just ice counter them, and you should be fine, by the way, after you kill one, be careful of the other werewolf just waiting for you to be ambushed. Don't ask me about Gorgon, just try kill it by attacking it regularly once, and then windmill and then try fire counter it. Careful of bears, because they are in a small room, so yeah. Wisp are so annoying... '!' means attacking regularly, '!!' means defense, '!!!' means lighting bolt, '!!!!' means smash, '!!!!!' means counter (or as my friend Ruuka told me). At the boss room, be careful of flying swords, when you use magic on them, like any kind of magic, the flying swords will grow bigger and heal a bit, and will damage more. Small golem will increase his size after 1/2 of it's HP is gone, and his damage will be like Golem in Ciar normal dungeon. So be careful of golem, just smash and windmill it.

    Albey Dungeon

This dungeon is only for G1 quest, or you can "hitch" on people's party on Saturday on going to Tir Na Nog, it's at Barri dungeon. Warning: Be careful that, there is no Goddess statue inside this dungeon, so bring some people to revive you. Make sure you bring a LOT of HP potions. If you die, you will have 2 (if you haven't done the quest bind) or 3 options, one is revive back to the dungeon lobby, revive back to nearst town, or wait for rescue. For people who didn't do Dougal's quest will have 2 option, revive back to Barri dungeon lobby or wait for rescue. I can not remember monsters in all 7 dungeon (Green, red, blue, silver, black orb, Goddess Pendant, and normal)... All I remember is at final boss room is Dark Lord and 2 ghost armor. And last boss is Glas Ghaibhleann (sorry if any mispelled)

    Albey Green boss room

    Heavy Gargoyle x 4?

    Light Gargoyle x 5?

    Albey Blue boss room

Lycanthrope x 3 (blue hair, gold hair, and orange hair?)

    Albey Red boss room

    Nightmare humaniod

    Albey Silver boss room

Golem (Black) Metal skeleton x 6 (armored)

    Albey Black boss room

    Ghost armor x 5 or 6?

Albey Final boss room (6 floors)

    1F Hellhound x 3

    2F Lycanthrope

    3F Heavy gargoyle

    4F Ghost armor x 6

    5F Black Wizard and Wisp x 6

6F Dark Lord, Ghost armor x 2, Glas Ghaibhleann (after defeating Dark Lord)

Light Gargoyle (Glas Ghaibhlenn summons them)

    Albey Goddess Pass boss room

Dark Lord, Ghost armor x 2, Glas Ghaibhleann (after defeating Dark Lord)

Light Gargoyle (Glas Ghaibhleann summons them)

Strategies/Tactics Well those light gargoyles must be annoying much? Well first, they may will multi-aggro which doesn't happen often, and they hit hard when you're in defense. Just ice counter it. Be careful that they use magic too. When they are charging up, run away and then use counter, after you get hit by either lighting or ice, quickly use counterattack, and it will work, unless you get counter too late. Do the same with heavy gargoyle, since they have heavy stance. In Albey blue boss room, you have to use windmill only. The one with the gold hair should hit pretty hard, and hit 4 times? I can't remember, one of them hit 4 times, and one of them hit 3 times, but hits pretty hard, and the other one, I forgot. Just drag one and kill it with windmill. In Albey red dungeon, which has most of the fomor scrolls. It has a lot of skeletons with armor, and the Albey red boss room, the boss should be easy, just be careful of it changing it's resist, red is melee resist, that's all I remember. In Albey silver boss room, do it like Ciar Basic run (I solo this dungeon before, so I say it's easy, but the light gargoyles are in the way, which made my wounds a lot...). In Albey Black boss room, there is ghost armor that uses melee and magic, so try use ice counter with them, you should be able to kill it, just try think of it like a light gargoyle. Finally there is the 6 floors (only 3 people are allowed to come), which is final dungeon. Hellhounds in one small room, get one hellhound, and the other will get 1 as well. Kill it like in Math dungeon. 2nd floor, just get 2 people at the Lycanthrope and windmill it to death, the other person can watch or wait unti one of their member die, and he/she will revive them. 3rd floor, since there is 1 Heavy gargoyle, just let someone try solo it, if not, just try find a way to kill it with a party of 3 or 2. 4th floor, kill them like in Albey Black boss room, just in a smaller room. 5th floor, since there is 6 Wisp and 1 Black wizard in a small room, let someone get the black wizard first, and try defend the person killing he black wizard by the wisp. Finally the last 6th floor, take out the 2 ghost armor and then go for dark lord. If someone has range, then get 1 person in front of the person ranging and use counterattack, and one person behind him and use counterattack, just make sure it's close to the ranger. The ranger will repeatly fight arrows at Dark Lord, and Dark Lord has an ability to teleport behind you and attack you. With 2 people, you can try use smash on Dark Lord while the person uses ice bolt or firebolt, or lighting bolt, or range. Just the person that is ranging must protect him or herself by Dark Lord that will teleport behind him or in front of him. Glas Ghaibhleann is kinda easy, just when it summons the light gargoyles, it will be annoying. Well first, use firebolt and run away until you're not looking at it when you're running away from it, then come back to the boss room, and kill the light gargoyles that it summoned out. One of them will drop a Sealed Scroll that will be able to make you invincible for around 50 seconds, and wound rate 100% (it won't let Glas Ghaibhleann recover it's lost HP) and the rest of the gargoyles will only drop firewood (3-5). Kill the light gargoyles like those ghost armor, just don't panic. After getting enough scrolls, make a campfire near Glas Ghaibhleann and then divide the seal scrolls by 1, just don't burn a bundle of them. It will be a waste. (it took me 3 whole dam hours to solo Glas Ghaibhleann since no one would help me...)

Re: Guidance Goodness! Event Guidelines - Updated

This is a really simple beginner tactic i used when i was a beginner

    1. Smash

    2. Defense and walk away/Counterattack

    3. Repeat Step 2 until the target dies

The advantage is that you only need two or three skills, so almost anyone can use it.

Also, it works on most beginner monsters like spiders and wolves because they have only a couple skills

This tactic works on monsters as strong as giant spiders

Re: Guidance Goodness! Event Guidelines - Updated

blah, late entry T.T hope it still counts

well, I already posted this in my guild forum

Swing Fast, Cut Deep! <<Melee Basics>>

If you haven't noticed yet. Mabinogi's combat system is based on timing, and chaining the right skills together

Remember, Skills do not activate right away. The bubble above your head needs to be solid before the skill is ready

These are the currently available Melee skills

Normal Attack -> simply click the enemy to attack (not actually a skill)

Smash Attack -> When active, it unleashes a single powerful melee strike. This attack is great for enemies in Defend. It is useless against a normal attack

Defend -> When active, you can parry the normal attacks of enemies (you still take a bit of damage). This skill is weak against Smash Attack

Counter Attack -> When active, you will nullify the damage from an enemy's melee attack and strike them back instead. This skill is weak against range attacks. Also, when active, your stamina will continously drain itself (untill 0)

Windmill Attack -> When active, you will spin around and attack an entire area near you. This attack is great for attacking enemies in a group. You lose a bit of hp after execution.

In melee combat, switching skills is very important. You should never use the same skill twice, even if it's separated by a normal attack. (Ex: Attack, Defend, Attack, Defend) The second time you use Defend, the skill will take a longer time to charge, thus making you vulnerable to enemy attacks

    Chaining Skills
These are the skills and what you can use after it in order to make a useful chain
Smash Attack -> Defend / Counter Attack / Windmill

Defend -> Normal Attack (other skills should not be used since the enemy is only parried for a short amount of time)

Counter Attack -> Defend, Windmill (maybe, haven't tried), (Smash attack may also be used, but it is not recomended since enemy will most likely charge for a normal attack)

Windmill -> Defend (Smash attack is optional, but enemy will most likely perform normal attack)

    Reading Enemy Skills
There will be a lot of times when you will be unable to identify an enemy's skill. Here are some useful tips on finding out what's what.

Smash Attack -> The enemy will charge towards you while the skill bubble is above its head. If you are Defending, cancel it quickly and normal attack.

Defend -> A skill bubble appears above the enemy's head as it walks towards you then in circles around you. You should quickly attack it with a Smash Attack at this time, otherwise, use Defend and move away

Counter Attack -> The enemy will be in an aggressive stance with a skill bubble above their head. At this point, it is important to keep your distance. If you know Fire Bolt, use it. Otherwise, use Defend and walk away (keep an eye out for the next attack).

Windmill -> looks the same as Counter Attack, except the skill settles in faster. Same course of action should be taken

NOTE: The skill bubble will dissapear a short while after the skill is activated. This does not mean the skill is cancelled. However, there are times when an enemy will cancel or change skills. So keep an eye out for things.

    Basic Melee Strategy
The basics to melee combat involves mixing Normal Attack, Smash Attack, Defend, and Counter Attack

    This is how it goes
Smash Attack / Normal Attack (full combo) -> Counter Attack -> Defend -> Normal Attack -> Counter Attack -> Defend -> blah blah blah

The opening attack should be a smash attack (if the skill rank is high) Or a full combo of Normal Attacks. As the enemy flies away, activate Counter Attack. The enemy will most likely charge in for a Normal / Smash attack. It is possible for it to use Counter Attack, Windmill Attack, or Defend.

If it does not attack, cancel Counter Attack and use the appropriate skill to attack it again. Then you want to reactivate counter attack and wait for the enemy to strike

If it does attack, then switch to Defend as it flies away. You may want to take a few steps back in case the skill does not activate in time

At this point, the enemy will either attack or don't. If it does attack, make sure it's a Normal Attack, NOT Smash attack. If it decides to Smash, cancel Defend and Normal Attack it. After the normal attack, switch to Counter Attack

If it does not attack, you can hit it with another skill then go to Counter Attack.

As you can see, the important thing to melee combat is the circle of

Smash / Normal Attack => Counter Attack => Defend => Repeat
