So today me and a friend both activated and started new characters in OB at exactly 5pm central.  I told him to choose the first server on the list (for me it was mabius2).  We end up leveling in separate areas. He decides to come help me with the Malcolm's ring quest...both on channel 5.
We try to meet up only to find we are on 2 different servers.

My Server List:  Mabius2 | Mabius3 | Nao                   His Server List:  Mari | Ruari | Tarlach

What the hell happened? We both played POB, only he reinstalled...but he used the same client from nexon, not from fileplanet.

As far as I can tell, Nao = Mari, mabius2 = Rauiri, mabius3 = Tarlach.

I figured out mabius2 on my own, as I created in mabius2 and then later found out that it is Rauiri upon reinstalling to fix the problem. Someone else claims that Nao = Mari, so that leaves mabius3 = Tarlach.

Yeah, it sux. I told my friends to create on mabius2, but since they didn't have that server they ended up creatin' on Mari. Now I gotta wait a long time to play, and am gonna lose my CB title. The latter is my own fault for being too hasty, it sux but I can deal with it. Main suckage is having to wait so darn long to recreate so I can play with my friends. 

Nevermind. I found out that the server names were changed...but for some reason they won't update on my client. Weird.
I'll be remaking on a different account on Mari so I don't get screwed and have to wait till 7 am tommorow.

I'll most likely be doing the same. Hate to lose CB title and possible cowboy hat, but I guess that's what I get for being hasty and assuming everything would work correctly from the get go.

To resolve your patching issue we suggest that you reinstall Mabinogi with the new client rather than patching.

Does having the old client affect gameplay?  From what I can tell, all it does is change the server names.
