    Account Cleaned

A friend's account was cleaned and I lost this goggle and starlight.

But that's a drop in the bucket compared to his account being unusable because he can't change his password due to typing in fake information. Any tips on how to make the account useable again by password changing?

    Poor Cliff & co.. :(

My suggestion is, send tickets and try to prove ownership of account. (email correspondence, etc).

Iunno. You should really, if you're writing fake info, write it down.. or use consistent fake info  so you'll remember. xD

    Locking the bank doesn't help.

    You'll always be at risk.

Character deletion, items not locked away being stolen/burned..

Let's also not forget about extra ap. I know someone who got hacked (well not really hacked, more like backstabbed) by this jerk who reset one of his r1 skills and put all the ap into useless things.

Yeah, That happens all too often these days. D= Dissapointing, you know? Ruins the fun for everyone else, and I despise people like that.

    But there are also idiotic hackers. My lover awhile back was hacked, sure, all of his items were taken. But uh, The hacker used their OWN nx to Rebirth him with strange looks. Which makes me Lol because You don't stay like that forever, Nor does he look like that now. So it was a free rebirth for him, at the cost of in-game items I have gotten him once again, and plenty more. So XD;

Takes one day to delete a character

Force log into your account and cancel it

Also, I said it was alot of work because you would have to put your equips in the bank every time you log off.

As for the skill issue, I can't say much about that except it's gonna take alot of useless skills to get rid of that 60ap you spent on rank 1 AR

Remember people , don't use easy passwords . names and numbers you use at school and at work are NOT safe to use as passwords .
Use random numbers and letters this makes things harder for people to "hack into" a good password is a fool proof way to ensure safety
    of your items .

    Ex .

    Use things like this

    J12n3461L or 192NT4187

    Things not to use
    IAMAGOD , sweetypie13 or user names + a number

Those are a sure way to get your account jacked into .

Be safe keep leveling and enjoy the game Big Smile

Wrong. Does not take 1 day. You are able to delete a character at 7am pacific.

All you need to do is login at 6:59, press delete, one minute later it's deletable.

    :/

And not all r1 skills use 60 ap. He had r1 smash (30 ap iirc). The person dumped it into magic, sharp mind, life skills, etc. If you don't havee service you're unable to get that back. Plus, what if you're saving ap to rank up a skill and they constantly use your ap?

The only way to have a safe account is to get the password changed or make a new one.

(Even getting the password changed is dangerous, seeing as how they know your username now. )

I'm not a big fan of passwords like you suggest. They're difficult to remember, which means you often need to write them down, and that's one of the really big mistakes. Especially since I strongly suspect that most "random" hacks are done by siblings/cousins for the lulz, who can look through your stuff while your back is turned -- or mess with your account if you step away while logged on.

A strong password should be a mix of letters and numbers, and upper and lower cases. It should not be anything particularly meaningful, so that someone who knows you can deduce it, nor should it be a word from the dictionary (even + a number), but it also should not be so totally random that you can't remember it.

I once set up a laptop for someone who then spent about 5 minutes trying to think up a REALLY GOOD password -- which she promptly forgot, as she discovered when she tried to log in the next day. And since I hadn't had the foresight to set up an account for myself and hadn't enabled the Administrator's account, the only thing for it was to boot from an installation CD and reinstall the OS.

You don't want this to happen for Mabi, especially if you do things like give them fake personal information which you then proceed to forget as well. (There's no reason to give them fake info. It's not part of any data they make public, and is only for account verification.)

This is probably your best bet. Don't use fake info, and don't make up a security question and forgot what the answer is. Because if you DO need to reset your password, you're kind of done for. I've known people who have had to abandon their account entirely too, because they used fake information to "stick it to the man" or something like that. If you do use fake info, make sure you know what it is.

If you do use fake info, make sure you know what it is.

As I have said in the past, the most secure password you can have, which in itself only goes so far, is 8-14 chatacters consisting of all FOUR character types: upper-case letter, lower-case letter, number, and symbol. As long as you make sure its complete gibberish, the time a sophisticated algorithm would take on cracking a 14 character password with those parametres is absolutely mind boggling.

Also, the bank password is not so much to protect your items, but rather your money, however you could be like me and keep common use items on your pets, and the expensive stuff in the bank (because its expensive to keep taking out of the bank). The password must be entered for any direct bank transaction of gold in the game, and no one can withdraw the money directly either, so it is secure aside from the maybe 50k you have on your person...

Secondly, and most people do not even think of this: I personally use separate log-ins for the game client and this website. I think it is highly unlikely that someone is going to  hack the Nexon servers, but hey, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, yes? Yes, it may be irrational paranoia, but I prefer to consider irrational as well as rational when planning security.
