chum13:Well, I know that MapleStory and WoW is worser than mabi... MapleStory and WoW is like:
1. You make a goal.
2. You acomplish it.
3. You see a wealthy "pro" level guy
4. You set to imitate him as a goal.
5. You are successfully acting like him, saying n00bz, lulz at beginners
6. You continue to see people stronger and better than you. Thus raising more and more difficult goals.
AND this cycle repeats until you get to max level, or you decided to
quit the game, I played both MS and WoW, and hated them. Mabi is
different for me, the goal is more valuble as it is, and it will be way
more likely unique.
The sad thing is..
..This is more true of Mabi than ANY other MMO out there.
Keep
doing the same thing each week to reach your new goals, looking at the
people that are stronger/better(and will always be stronger/better)
than you simply because they've been at the grind longer.
Luckily
I've been here since Open Beta, so I'm only a few levels behind the
highest tier players. But it doesn't make it any more fun.
---
As for Jaz's question,
WoW, GW, (soon to be) Aion, and other games > Mabi.
WoW
-- Arguably better graphics. Better PvP. Better dungeon system(<3 no
ridiculous passes and being able to log back into the dungeon if you
disconnect.) Level cap(You know, so you aren't grinding levels for
years aiming for a goal you'll never reach.) Better customer support.
Even has better events..which is really sad. WoW has pathetic events,
but it beats ours.
Only downside here is no real storyline.
GW
-- Better graphics(No comparison.) Better skill system. Better PvP.
Better storyline. Low level cap(20) -- highly dependant on preparation
/ execution. Balanced. Ability to log back into instance. Much better
events(Dragon Arena..is quite possibly the most balanced and fun PvP to
exist on an MMO.)
Downside: Controls are a bit more stiff.
Aion -- Wins at life. That's all that needs to be said here.
----------------------------------
Mabi is okay, really
The skill system is certainly a novelty for the first month. The graphics are nice, despite them being rather simple.
But
then..you discover the endless grind, and the skill system ceases to be
so special to you. Enter room->WM and/or AR-->Continue.
PvP?
AR spam or FH. You will rarely, if ever, see anything else. You may see
the occasional melee-only, no FH fights. But then..it's whoever has the
highest WM rank.
Dungeons: If you don't run the same, best
exp-grabbing dungeon you can, every day of every rebirth..then you're
wasting money. Unless you're a free rebirther, in which case you're way
too far behind for it to matter anymore.
The only reasons I can see for people liking it:
High levels -- Ability to stroke their e-peen because they know that they'll always be stronger than everyone else in the game.
Mid
levels -- Ability to win in PvP fights, because AR/FH are imbalanced
for it; just like in PvE. (I have R1 AR/Range, and I still think we
could use Assault and Magic Shields to indirectly nerf it.)
Low Levels -- New to the game. Still illusioned.
All -- Good game for hanging out with people, I suppose. Music, campfire, etc.
I
would have left had it not been for friends being here, really. So
until they leave, I'll sit here and drink my poison leveling each and
every week.
