My recommendation to everyone is to play something else. I was having the same problem with the installer, and no one seems to care about new users having issues. Every thread on these boards is filled with useless "support" for this problem. In the end it turns out that the the 1st party download is garbage and thats why it doesnt work.

Are you serious? How do the people who run this game expect to get new users? There are tons of free MMORPG's out there these days, and from the reviews Ive read  - most are better than this. Not to mention, they dont put up corrupted downloads and then tell you its your fault that it doesnt work. My family in NY, NJ and NC have all been looking for a game to play together. This one wont be it.  

 I will be posting a review on every major site that reviews free MMORPGs, warning people that the people who support this game are generally rude and completely unhelpful and that the first party download doesnt even work. The folks who run Mabinogi might want to get their together if they want new players.

ok has anyone got the "cannot extract files" prob? well i have.

i've noticed that more and more i try to download mabinogi, the more i think the prob is fake. idk why but i feel like nexon is laughing about it right now.i dont hate hate nexon but im just bugged that since they had to translate EVERYTHING in mabinogi to work in english speaking/reading areas, they didnt fix ALL the bugs. plus contests for bug reports are just making the maplers,dancers(audition people), and mabinoigians do all the work finding the bugs. go to 79%????? to see some suggestions i put for my prob and maybe it will help this prob too

I did what you suggested Lythanda. I could only find the folder in My Docs, as I didn't even have a Nexon folder. I even created a Nexon folder to see if it would put one there. I just rebooted and restarted the client. Same error. Still no "change the default install path" option. BTW this is the first post I read by you and I don't like it. Basically I feel double stupid now because your advice doesn't work for me. User error, right? BS.

 

they mean delete all of your files off of your computer that are about mabinogi...then re-download the file and dont click 'save' click run...then after the download ends, it should open up that page where it says do you accept these rules or whatever...click I Accept...then where it says C:Nexon/Mabinogi, or whatever, click browse and thats how u change it... >.<

ok. this is actually really easy. first you have to go to contol panel and click add or remove programs. then go and delete the mabinogi folder. then go to the mabinogi website and install again. jeez.

Ive tried downloaded it from a second site ive deleted everything mab related and still nothing is working there has just been to many people having the same problem the game says it finished downloading but the path to installation was messed up...im starting to wonder if nexon has any legitamit tech people on there staff and if they do some one please FIX THIS....

IF you are using a portable hard drive, check to see if its plugged in because that happens to me too.

Nope im using my normal drive nothing portable.

I'm trying to install Mabinogi on my laptop, but I get this error too. I never experienced it on my desktop, which is a Vista. This laptop is a Windows 7, is that why? I don't know. So, to the people who actually have experience with this problem, has restarting helped? If not, I'm probably going to be stuck with transferring the individual pre-installed Mabinogi files to this laptop...

Sorry for the double post, but there's not Edit button, so.. that's Nexon's fault. :P

 

Anyway, I'm going to try the Mabinogi installer method, and see if that works. Since that is how I installed Mabinogi on my desktop.
