    omg matsu!!! youre ss3luigi!? O.O

lol i love youre cake. its so adorable  x3

    o_o! nono, a long time ago (jason) ss3luigi drew that for me and since then its been my forum avatar. ^_^;;

    and thanks! your cake is pretty sweet too :O I'm amazed at your balance. If I tried that.. the cake would be upside-down on the floor. ;.;

     Forbiddeng8-

    Hmm tutorial ._. lets see...

Cake- I don't know what flavor you like.. this one's just an ordinary yellow cake. You can pick a recipe from many sites online or buy a box of mix- the main thing about this cake is the frosting design. ^^

Frosting- Again, you can find many recipes online or buy premade frosting of various flavors, but make sure its frosting and not cream or else it'll melt everywhere ._. like what happened to my cheese cake last last Christmas >.>.. also, make sure your frosting is white. Then buy the desired food coloring dyes, they're usually located where the baking goods are in the grocery store. Getting the right colors you want is basically trial and error, so when you color the frosting- put a drop at a time or so, and mix in seprate bowls. After your cake is done, wait until it cools before spreading the frosting, making your design. (if you get impatient like me, and wait till the cake is warm and not cool, then the frosting will melt on your cake, and you'll have to respread again x.x) Also, its good to have a spring pan.

Takes about 4 hours (or at least thats how long it took me ^^;)

ahhh! If only food could be sent via internet because there was so much left over.. I sent my friend home with half the cake because my mom is on a diet and I had to head on a flight back to school the next day.

    Re: Cake Contest

Aaaaand here's my submission Party!!! My entry is a glorious union of cake, sugar cookies, and fluffy marshmallow cream: all homemade of course. =) To give an adequate description of what the cake actually is, a few intermediate pictures are given. I'll withhold the theme until the end of my post, but hopefully it shouldn't be beyond imagination.

As you might be able to tell, it's a bundt pan marble cake. I mixed up a vanilla batter and strawberry batter for the base of the conglomeration. The shape was made by slicing two clockwise spirals opposite each other.

This second picture features the whipped marshmallow cream spread along the outer surface of the cake. Two things of note here: 1) I ended up slicing off the top crust of the cake to show off the marbling. 2) The marshmallow cream was also spread in between layers, but it wasn't very visible :[

The final product. The sugar cookies were made to be a bit tough so they'd stay put after placement and the cookie decorations were done by edible decorative gel (red, white, and black). This actually took a fair few tries to get some decent drawings with the gel, but I think they turned out pretty nicely. The center cookie features a female character dual wielding. Following are a few close-ups of the four peripheral cookies (Mimic, Giant red spider, Red skeleton, Small golem):

If you hadn't figured it out by now, the theme of my cake was windmill =). Although it may not be obvious, the girl in the middle is supposed to be slicing the cake (white cream spirals for effect), and the four other cookies are supposed to be monsters either getting hit or knocked back by windmill.

P.S. If I could have sent in this cake instead of pictures, I totally would have. I can't imagine a cake being tastier than a strawberry/vanilla marble cake with cream filling and sugar cookie topping. Add milk and you're golden.

It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake, but making flour is annoying as hell.

    Placeholder~

Here's a hint: my cake is golden. ;)

Edit: Hello, folks! It's Navi from the Mari server! Here's my entry: the Big Gold Pouch cake!

I used a yellow cake mix (you can call it a "golden cake mix" if you want :P) and normal fluffy white frosting. I baked two circular cakes, using one for the wallet pouch itself, and I cut the other to look like the wallet's opening (also to make the cake look more square). For the drawstrings, I used black licorice (the licorice kept breaking, so I held it together with sewing pins, if you didn't notice :x). And for the gold, I used none other than chocolate coins!

Take a look at it from the front. You guessed it, folks: This player's money bag is full!

Mmm-mmm! Who knew Erinn's currency could be so tasty?

    Re: Cake Contest

I needed something creative. Something interesting. Something no one else would ever think of doing ever. I started thinking... What is something almost no one ever thinks about? Of course. That bird.
    That bird is still asleep...

Everyone knows That bird, but no one pays attention to it. Duncan mentions it's there, but why bother looking at it? It's just sleeping, same as always. I set to work.

     Everyone's favorite cupcake bird!

With a bit of work and a marshmallowy treat, I created this masterpiece! A delicious Banana-nut muffin with a scrumptious Marshmallow Peep on top, decked out with a cute little red plume!

This is the side you normally see him from.

Yes, this plump little cutie is my entry into the Cake Contest!

Ah, sleeping in his little nest, how cute!

This is him in his natural habitat, large size if you want to see the deliciousness of him~

    Re: Cake Contest

Squish: Nice work. How did you get the golem to stand like that? Those wooden supports look pretty thick and sturdy. I had a pretty hard time making Ferghus stand, and it's much smaller and probably lighter than your golem. Nice balancing act too.

This event isn't getting nearly as much love as the drawing event and it deserves more. Bump to raise interest :/

    Re: Cake Contest

Happy Anniversary Mabinogi! This is my submission for the Cake/Baked Goods Contest :3

My first time baking and I think it turned out good/so-so. It took me eight or nine hours to get all the supplies, mix the ingredients, bake, and decorate the cake and cookies. It's suppose to be Filia (To be more specific, the center of the village where the lake and the Memory Tower are located) with the three races joined together to celebrate the first Anniversary. I guess Ifrit walked all this way to join the party :3

The lake and the grass surrounding the lake is colored frosting while the Memory Tower is a snickers bar covered in plain frosting. The Cookies were decorated with icing. Almost everything is edible except the banner.

    <3 My Giant Cookie

*Unfortunatly after taking the pictures Ifrit was defeated (He fell over) and the elf's arm fell off :(

    Re: Cake Contest

Interesting design you have there penguin. I've got a suggestion and a question regarding your cake. The suggestion is that you should try to wait until the cookies (or cake) cool before you start frosting them. That way you can prevent the icing from melting and dripping a bit (unless that was intended as a hairstyle of course :x). My question was what kind of cookies you baked. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but I'm fond of medium-crispy cookies and I might want to make some of those next time. =)

    Re: Cake Contest

Ah. I tried my best at making a Filia Cookie Set (Yay for the mixing rank in cooking * O *), though some of the things don't match up with the picture...

From the bottom right Mushroom Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies. The middle are the Coconut Cookies, as for the left hand side I couldn't tell what they were so I just picked something else to put there. All the cookies were hand shaped, minus the ones in the bottom left hand side.
