Okay, so I was playing mabi earlier today, like I normally do, when
I got DC'd (right when I entered G3 Barri, too, which is a pain, but
besides the point). So, like what normally happens when I get dc'd, the
game thought I was still logged in, so I exited the client, waited a
few seconds, and then opened it up again. I logged in, and suddenly got
booted, and a message saying the game couldn't reach the server popped
up. Just like before, it said that I was still logged in, so just like
before, I exited the client.
All of this is...not normal,
per say, but it happens sometimes. What's not normal is for my
anti-virus program (my college requires that we have Sophos Virus Scan
on our computers) to suddenly start telling me that "Virus/spyware
Mal/Generic- A has been detected". I freaked, and had the program
associated with it deleted, and then realized I had just deleted the
whole game. And now I can't reinstall it.
I've tried the
downloader. It didnt' work. I tried the "old fashioned" downloader. It
didn't work. I tried downloading the game without the npc soundtracks.
It didn't work. I tried attempting a manual download. It didn't work. I
did a search on my computer for "mabinogi," deleted everything that
came up, and tried again. Most of the time, once I download the game,
my computer either won't let me open the file because of the virus, or
it won't recognize it as a program that it can open. And all of this is
after I authorized every Mabinogi-related file I could find on my virus
scan.
Plus, now, every time I try to do a full download the "old
fashioned way," my screen says "file not found." Is all of this because
of the scheduled updates, and I should just try again tomorrow, or is
there something I can do so I can play Mabi again?
Thanks to anyone who can help me.
