    Masamune advice

I just got one in the zombie event! And I predicted I would too. Gut feeling. But I really don't know what exactly to do with it. I got another get feeling telling me to keep it in the bank until I've capped my balance, then upgrade it for extra critical or attack strength. But what would be the best dexterity to do this at? I only have 50 base at the moment. And when I've got the dex finally, what should be my upgrade path? The wiki doesn't seem to have suggestions.

Also, can I change the color of the sheath?  It's pink. I'd like it to be white if possible.

I'm pretty sure metal dyes can change the sheath color.

And as for what to do with it; I'm not sure. xD

    Re: Masamune advice

The Masamune isn't any stronger (if not a very risky equipment to work with) compared to other two-handed swords, unless ego'd, which would be mostly for the looks. IMO, sell it by all means. It isn't worth using, unless you wanted an ego one yourself. Sell it, and buy a rough two-hander instead (over a mil, but hey.. so much better than a Masamune). Either sell it unscratched, or take the risk of making it egoable (Edern point-by-point repairs while blessed ><) and then sell it. Mine sold for 3.8m as a full dura egoable. I'm sure you can do a lot with that kind of money, pretty sure it'd go for 2-3m even if it isn't egoable. Just don't upgrade one... that'd make so many people who want a Masamune cry. D:

tl;dr - Sell or Ego, 'nuff said. Although I'd sell it and buy a better 2-hander and have the leftovers for other spendings.

P.S. - Sheath can be dyed with a regular dye ampoule (surprising, I know--I had one before :P). The rest, metal dyes.

    Re: Masamune advice

Well I don't have the time and patience for any ego but my own... yet it is a rather stylish blade. Not THAT stylish I guess. My two-handed looks better on me. So... if it isn't stronger... is it really weaker? If I dyed the sheath white it'd look awesome with my clothes, even if not my armor. But If I couldn't get it at least as strong as other two-handeds... well 2 million would definitely get me closer to what I really wanted, a Japanese one-hander.

    Re: Masamune advice

Similar types of upgrades. The balance is why you should go with a two-hander. Getting dex to the point where using a masamune would still yield you 80% balance would take a while. Go for the money, if you're aiming for a weapon that's useful in combat (and won't scare the life out of you when you have to repair it, hoping it won't break).

But that's what I was saying from the start. I wanted to continue to use the two-hander I have now until I have enough dex to make better use of the masamune. But... yeah that does look like it will take a long time. Perhaps by then I can afford to buy one or something like it.

By then, the Masamune would probably be common. If not, you can always pick up a Japanese 2-hander, since smithed ones should be on par, if not better than the Masamune, which always has "stock" stats. Those can also be forged to have more color variety anyway. :p

But if you ever get a Rough Two-hander, you won't be able to make any use with a Masamune. xD

I sold the masamune for 1.5 million. Now the guy I sold it to is selling it for 8 million. I hope he's the one being stupid.Though it is the only one for sale.

Well, I wouldn't know the prices on other servers. But since the Masamune cannot be produced via blacksmith manuals, it should cost more than a 2-hander.. you could have waited for a better offer.

Be thankful you didn't sell it for 50K.

My friend accidentally mis-typed and offered 50K instead of 5000K and the seller accepted o.e

1.5m is a profit nevertheless, I agree. :O Tarlach's economy is just messed up. :D
