Chapter 1
Down the alleyway. Left, Paladins. Right, Dark Knights. Behind, other various enemies. No forward.
"So, Sorokii, just how do you plan to get out of this one?
Doesn't seem to be a way out." remarked the Sword Spirit. " 'Not one I
can see."
"Man, you are such a downer." Sorokii jumped up to a windowsill
with those words. "Where have you been the past 2 years?" With that,
Sorokii jumped higher to another, then a clothesline after that,
followed by more of the same.
Sorokii had adequate time to get up high, so when he did, he
hugged a windowsill, just as everyone arrived. The Dark Knights and
Paladins, though mortal enemies, kept their weapons at bay, though some
were temped to do otherwise. Instead, some menacing glances were
exchanged, and they began to look among themselves, as Sorokii has been
known to hide among the crowd. This time though, he did not. Soon
enough, a Holy Knight spotted him. "Overhead!" She cried.
"Underfoot!" Sorokii responded, dropping down a couple stories.
"Now, normally, being in the spot I am now," he began, "I'd taunt you
all." He grinned. "Especially considering none of you could reach me in
that clunky armor. Buuuuut..." he tapped his chin, as if thinking. "To
hell with that- bring it!" With those words he lightly pushed himself
off, and drew his blades, which became engulfed in flames as he did so.
A trick he learned recently, and one he can only pull off because of
his fire enchanted gloves. As he fell, he screamed "En garde!" And
assumed his own fighting stance, spirit sword in front.
"You sure about this?" the ego asked, slightly frightened. Sorokii landed, everyone flinched.
" 'Corse." A Black Knight tried to stab him in the back, but he
parried and countered with a sword uppercut. A giant, then, tried to
slice him in half, but lost his hand in the process. Not to mention
failed. One more bandit tried to get him, but a back fist proved enough
to stop him. "That all ya' got?" he exclaimed, which were words that
triggered many an attack. All three forces attacked in unison, destined
to fail. Attacks from left, right, front, back, it didn't matter. They
were all parried and countered. Most foes were not killed, but some
would go home with limbs not intact. The remainder of them, only about
15, ran away.
"Smart bunch, they were." He extinguished the flames from his blades.
"Forget about me?" Sorokii winced at this. How could he forget about her?
"Akira?" He turned around to see her standing there, in her Holy
Knight's armor. "I should have known you spotted me... you do know me
the best out of everyone else alive in this damned world..."
"Sorokii, please...come back to us." Akira pleaded. "You're the best knight we ever had, and...a great person too."
"You know all the Paladin captins, leaders, everyone...they
want nothing to do with me anymore." Sorokii said. He sighed. "I just wish you
could quit. Y'know, go back to how it was, before the Paladins." They
both took a long pause.
"Sometimes..." Akira started, "I wish I could too. But...too
much is riding on me staying. I can't leave. I just can't. Not yet at
least." She looked Sorokii in the eyes. "And until that day comes, I
can show you no mercy!" She assumed her battle stance, with her Gladius
and Kite Shield in hand.
"Fine." Sorokii pointed his normal sword at her. "But If I win, you let me go. You can't chase me."
"Just for today. And don't think I'm going easy on you!"
"Oh, I'm shaking in my non-existent boots." He said with a smirk. He got ready to fight, flames at hold.
Then, the battle began.
First, they charged at each other. Akira sliced at Soro, but he
flipped over her, and kicked her in midair. Akira scarcely managed to
block it with her shield, but Sorokii pushed off it, then off a wall,
quickly coming back. Akira regained balance quicker than expected, and
held her sword out in his path. Using his swords, he pushed the
Galdius over, Akira with it. He slid for a bit, and Akira came at him.
With a downward slash, she attacked. Sorokii guarded with his swords in
a sort of X block. Eventually, Akira broke Soro's guard, and fell to
the ground. Just as Akira pointed her sword to his face, he retaliated
kicking straight upward, knocking her sword out of her hand, and helmet
off her head. She fell and he rose. Sorokii caught the Gladius, and
pointed the sword at her.
"That helmet always was a little to big for you." He smiled. Akira did the same. She lowered her head and closed her eyes.
"Go." She said, very calmly. Soro placed the Gladius next to her, and laid the Holy Knight's helmet on her.
"Maybe next time we see each other, we can meet without having to fight."
"Maybe." She responded. Sorokii gave a small wave goodbye, and ran off.
