truelf:well thats still illegal... so basically you want mabinogi to become like WoW? buying service by farming gold to get somone to buy you service... still that is illegal.. and also..when you purchase NX cash.. what are you goingt o buy with nx cash? OBVIOUSLY service/cards......
still that is illegal..

I'm not continuing this discussion with you until you provide me something that proves this is illegal in all MMOs. Take EVE Online, for example.
Darkmgl: I'm all for the idea, I just fear that if it doesn't level off that you end up with people expecting insane amounts of gold for items such as rebirth scrolls. That in turn would cause massive inflation on anything the buyer of a rebirth scroll was selling, since they would have to meet the higher and higher gold prices of the cash shop items. If it levels off at a reasonable amount, then it all works out nicely. The problem is that everyones gonna have a different opinion of reasonable, and if you don't have enough people selling items compared to the number of people who wanna buy them, the prices will skyrocket.

all in all.. the idea is great for those who cant afford NX or cant buy them but seriously.. you know ppl are going to do this illegally even if there is a service that lets you do that.. but be prepared to get scammed..

Its not exactly that I'm against the idea or anything. I'm against suggesting it because chances are... you'll get scammed.
Also, it IS against nexon rules. Previously, threads (not all) consisting information that breaks Nexon rules or the law were generally locked. So I was just saying "hey, wouldn't be too shocked if this was locked" or something along those lines.
Of course, they blatantly said you're not allowed to exchange cash with gold, but if you REALLY want to get technical, you could read the user agreements. Nexon cash you buy is yours until you use it. All gold/items in the game that you own belong to Nexon. If you buy NX cash from another player, you're actually using Nexon's property to buy someone else's money.
They don't like that. It wasn't really anything against you or anyone who wants to do this. I was just saying... they get touchy about stuff like this. I remember the mass locking that occurred when they were talking about IP bans and all the things you can do to get around it.

I'm sorry, but whenever we have a debate, you usually end with "OKAY I GET IT" or a "WHATEVER".
No need to post the same two pictures twice.

Here it is, quoted from Terms of Use:
You agree that you cannot and have no right to sell or otherwise transfer any of the Cash Items, or any other content or information included in the Service, in whole or in part, to any third person or entity whatsoever, including, without limitation, on Internet auction sites (e.g., eBay, IGE) or in return for anything of value (including "real" money) or otherwise.
Key word being "third person", meaning outside of the game rules, control panel or otherwise.

I shouldn't argue too much since I don't know very much on this topic, but nevertheless, its against nexon rules XDDDDDDD
Darkmgl:I'm confused, how would this lesson gold farming/selling? Wouldn't it do the opposite and cause insane inflation on premium services sold for gold? Most people would try to get the stuff with gold instead of NX cash, which would drive the price up, which would make it so people need to farm massive amounts of gold...
Took me forever to reply but well...
That isn't exactly true. Take Gaia Online for example (I know it's not a game, but it has its own economy that works in a similar manner). Players are given the choice to sell Cash Shop stuff in the marketplace forgGold. Did people stop buying Cash Shop items, just so they could get the stuff with gold? Not at all. It actually BOOSTED the amount of Cash Shop items being bought. Some people find it easier to pay real cash in order to get a certain benefit, than work really hard ingame for it.

Trading with another player using ingame currency, then using an outside service to transfer the card/service. This includes websites, e-mails and other forms of trading that are not officially endorsed by Nexon.
The image that truelf links is only relevant to trading with a service other than Nexon Games. Which is a moot point, because the system I propose will be using Nexon Games. By using the Merchant Code, both the buyer and seller agree to terms that Nexon Games will be handling the transaction, and not any outside third party.
As mentioned earlier, people are free to try to offer gold and then Gift the card/service to another person. This of course, is very risky, and is subject to quite a bit of scamming.

Interesting effect there. I dunno what the statistics are like, but if founded it could prove a money making scheme for Nexon...
You're right, it would end up being extra income via cash shop sales for Nexon. But also, as stated a few times before, the risk of scamming is high, and the legality of the matter is dubious. You cited the third party as a service such as eBay for selling items, which is the way I interpret it. The problem comes into play on that screenshot of the of the Billing page.
Of course, there's another fundamental problem. In this case, people selling the cards would be in effect, purchasing in-game gold for whatever the amount of money say - a rebirth card, would cost. Sure, Nexon gains a little bit of revenue, but the whole reselling process and the inherent risks that accompany it is probably why it is frowned upon (at the very least) from the start. There would be an imbalance in the game's currency (albeit small at first, yet it has the potential to be a big problem).
I personally wouldn't want to see Nexon's bottom line income to be any motivation for implementing this feature. It WILL ultimately happen, however.
Just without official sanction.
