I was working on this quest and killed the spider with a full inventory.  I wasn't thinking and picked up the ring from the temp storage that pops up if you're out of space.  Now I'm stuck with a full inventory and the ring on my mouse.  I tried dropping the ring, failed.  I tried putting it on a pet and even gifting it to Malcolm, both failed.  I can't even put it in the bank because it wont allow me to talk to NPC's.  I relogged and it was still stuck to my mouse.  I can basicly do absolutely nothing because theres no way to get rid of this ring.

 

Any help?

Try putting the ring in your inventory.

Drop something that is not very valuable.

I tried but everything in my inventory is oddshaped and it wont let me replace it with more than one item.  I cant pick up anything in my inventory either.

It isent neccesarily a bug, rather poor organization on the fault of devcat and yourself, Malcolms ring is a beginner quest, i dont think Devcat would expect someone on they're beginner quests to max out they're inv already, espeically with odd shaped items.

It's very rare that you'll see someone with a full inv with no 2x2 items at all.

Being said that it's a beginner quest, if you have absolutely no choice you could just make a new character.

seems you really are stuck, not being able to exchange it with something else or to have someone hold it.

Try quitting the quest. I don't know if you can get it back after that, but it's worth a try.

Of course, this guy's a genius! you can just right click him with the ring and click star conversation rather than "Gift"
