    Enchant Skill

Enchant Skill:Many pple comfuse about the "enchants skill." I got few Q.s like "what is the scroll i got in alby dungeon.? Is it good!?"
Well...let me explain how this skill works!Q1  What's enchant skill?A1: It's the skill which upgrade ur weapons or armors. It can also use the elemental[ ice, fire, lighting ]on it, but strongly suggest not to use it.

Q2:  How can we enchant our weapons?

A2:  1stable, get a scroll. There's many ways to get these"scrolls" Ex: the dungeon's final chest or defeat the bosses, or get it from "things" are already enchanted, and burn it out.

Q3:  What do u mean burn it out?

A2:  Well...u need "a mana herb, and a HW[holy water], and make a campfire. After u prepared, put the enchanted "thing" into the fire. It will come out with 3 choises.  "Burn" " Entrust Others to Burn" and Enchanter's Burn". Now  u just click the 3rd one"Enchanter's Burn" and that's it.
1: be careful anything u drop in campfire will disappear forever
2: Burn the scroll out is depond on players Enchant skill, and campfire's rank!

Q4: Is there another way to Enchant Burn? rank F's percentage is fxxxing low!

A4: Well...there's another way if u don;t wanna spend ur AP on Enchant skill. It's easy, this time u have to prepare [a yellow herb and a HW], and do the exactly the same step as i said, but this time chose the 2nd one which is "Entrust Others to Burn", and u will see his/hers Encahnt rank and the %.                    Pass: The helper must team with u!

    Q5: ya!!!ya!!I got a scro~~~ll! So...now what.!lol!

A5: Now u need is a Magic powder. There's 3 kinds of magic powder. 1 magic powder 2 blessed magic powder 3 Elite magic powder. The price 1<2<3.  U can but magic powder in every dungeon or by Encahnt burn, or u can buy 2,3 in Tir, dunbartan school. 2->500$ 3->1k$. Then after u get ur scroll and magic powder. Put the magic powder on ur left hand and scroll on ur right hand. And use the skill"enchant" and chose the 1 weapon or armors u want to put the scroll power on it. Incrase ur int. will help u with Enchant!! 3int. for 1%.

Q6: OMG!!!!OMG!!! I failed Enchant!! Can anyone help me!!!? OMG!!!

A6: Well...i'll help. OMG! it's a Rank F scroll. How ca u fail on this. Want others to help u Enchant? Do the same way as i taught u, but this time u use the skill and choose the "Entrust Other's help" and chose a guy in ur team. This time u don;t need campfire, but the guy must be right beside u!

Q7: Ya!!!TY!!!TY!!!Finally!! Wait a min. What's the different of the scroll rank?

A7: Actually scrolls has their own rank, but it doesn't mean higher rank is wealthy more $. Sometime u can;t even sell high rank scroll, Cuz it's too hard to enchant. F>E>D>C>B>A>9>8>7>6>5>4>3>2>1.When the scroll is lower than rank 9.[F~A] U can enchant whenever u want, but if the scroll rank is hugher than rank 9 including rank 9. U need put the rank X which is above the scroll u want to enchant.!EX: if u wanna enchant rank 7 scroll. u'll need enchant rank A->9->8-to-->7, so that's why i said higher rank scroll, noone really wanna buy it.

Q8: hey!!hey!! i got 76 scrolls from alby!! I'll enchant them all in my broad stick!!

A8: OMG!! 76 scrolls!? Jesxx man...but everysingle scroll has a limit time. If u don;t use it in that limit of time. The scroll can;t be use anymore. And BTW. Everyweapons or armor can only Enchant "suffix"and"prefix" so..if u enchant twice "suffix" the 2nd one will cover the 1st one.
EX: u have a "fox" "blood" broad stick, and now u enchant "fox hunter"[prefix] Then it will cover the 1st "fox"

Q9: Okay><....well...i throw all my 76 scrolls cuz

they all running out of times. But how can i know is it "suffix" or "prefix"

A9: It say on each scroll man...go get another scroll. It right on it!!!u idxot!

Re: Guidance Goodness! Event Guidelines - Updated

This Part Is For Beginners Who Would Like Some Extra Advice

There's alot of confusion when new players start out in Mabinogi. I'll try to clear up some base problems, and give new players something to get on their feet. (I took some parts out of my other writings to create this one) I'm in no way an advanced Mabi player, however I'd like to do what I can, and also share my experiences.

Take good care of your gear!

The first thing new players often miscalculate when it comes to buying weapons is that the most expensive weapon makes them "more powerful". The weapons in mabinogi are merely an extension of ones own self. Someone with a short sword can fight ten times better than someone with a claymore if they are more skilled. This is a good thing to remember when buying weapons. If you know at heart that you aren't experienced enough to wield an expensive weapon properly, then it may be a mistake to buy the most expensive weapons in the store. Why would this be a bad idea? Because, if you fail to wield your weapon properly and die alot, then your repair/retrieval bill is going to be too high for you to pay for. Thus, Mabinogi is very good at thinning out the best swordsmen.

Personally, I always have two swords. One with high durability and decent damage. This is usually a broadsword. I repair it at the noobsmith(Fergus) Because it's cheap. True, he does fail ALOT. But I guess you could call this my training sword. I don't focus on upgrading it, and I use it in easy areas where I can make decent cash. Also it's a great sword to use when training my combat techniques on monsters. This sword is disposable, and often gets replaced alot.

My second sword is my main weapon. One that I spend alot of money on to keep in decent shape. Currently this is my bast sword. It still has 10/10 durability, and 4 balance upgrades (So it has +20 balance). This sword costs alot to maintain (Over 8k for a full repair). However, it is strong and gets the job done in serious situations. I won't use this sword unless I'm confident that I have the training to take on the monster I'm fighting, or if it's an emergency situation. I always repair this sword at the best smith, and I pay top dollar to have it kept in mint condition.

All in all, taking care of your weapons is an important thing in Mabinogi, and it can save you so much money if you're careful. This actually rings very true for armor as well. Take good care of your gear, use what YOU know you can use properly, and always keep your main sets blessed.

Manage your repair prices economically. You see alot of people wearing full armor sets and wielding around a shiny 2 hander. That's all well and cool now, but that setup has the highest upkeep cost possible. Imagine the repair bills -shudders-. I use a warhammer, a shield, some light armor, and a headband. Repair bills are around 4k for my hammer, the armor needs repaired rarely, and even when it does need repaired, it's a fairly cheap deal (Less than 5k). Also I don't need to worry too much about dropping these items because really the shield and leathers will be most costly, and even that's not too much of a sting for me making an accident in combat. Fight economically wise, until you have a decent horde of gold to repair your awesome armors. Cool looking now, but later on it's just a piece of metal with alot of holes in it if you can't maintain it.

Mobs are too strong, I lose my armor, and repair costs are insane!

Well, the most simple explanation to this is that you need to learn the tactics of the enemies you are engaging. Running out and attacking the nearest enemies with your best gear is a surefire way to lose everything you have. Combat in Mabi takes time to learn. Find a mob you want to train against, grab your training sword, and take the fight to the enemy. I've seen people around level 10 fight and solo Rabbie. Truly the word "Level" will become obsolete once players realize that level means very little in this game.

Honestly, the starting sword is an amazing weapon, and I still wish I had mine. Make good use of it while you have it. If you die and get in the negatives, it's not that bad of a thing. Once you're a higher level, it's much harder to train. Learn how to fight while still new. The negatives aren't too tough to make up for, and you'll thank yourself later for it.

If combat is too hard, find a mentor.

The combat system can be very overwhelming.for alot of players in Mabinogi,  Try to use guides people have already made on combat techniques. If you're carrying a two handed sword, and don't know what N+ is, then you have no idea what you're missing out on. Dungeons are very linear, and each type of room/monster requires a specific tactic to defeat. If premade videos don't help much, ask a more advanced player to help teach you. I myself would be glad to teach you new people combat lessons in Rabbie, and show you how to do N+ properly. Just message me. ^_^

Carry a decent stock of supplies!

One of the worst thing to happen to me in a dungeon run is running out of supplies. No more red pots, bandages, phoenix feathers, or a shattered weapon can completely ruin your trip. Make sure your friends stock up also. You get better benefits from healing each other, rather than just yourself. Stock up often on supplies to the extent of what you know will be adequate for you. Preparation is key, and holds true in many things.

Also if you're a mainly a warrior and never use any MP, why not toss 2 AP in to getting rank f healing? I guess it's a matter of personal preference... but your friends will love you for it, and it really cuts back on potion costs.

    Establish connections!

Social power among fellow Mabinogi players is a great thing to have. Grabbing a partner when going out in the wilderness is an invaluable thing. You can take turns fighting enemies and ress each other if one falls. In dungeons, it's the same way, except each player takes their own mobs one by one. Larger party's are actually more dangerous. People can jump in on your fight, mess up your combat pattern, and even kill both of you. It's quite frustrating. Party with groups that know what they're doing. This makes guild members and close friends priceless things. Fight tactically as a team, and no monster is too mighty.

    Questies!

Questies are the foundation of a new players AP base. Doing the starting questies will net you a decent ammount of AP, and a nice experience kick to boot.

Collecting 10 Fomor scrolls are great things as well. You can make alot of money off of them over time, especially if you collect all your mimic scrolls (6K per 10 mimic fomors).

The group fomor scrolls are great also. Basically you're just killing a certain mob over time and getting paid for it. It gives less money than collection scrolls because you're with others, but really you don't notice it and it's just an extra little kick for a wallet boost.

    Have fun!

What more can I say? Grab a ragtag group, play music, bake COOKIES!!, lounge about like a lazy oaf (guilty), or just do whatever gives you the most satisfaction in your fantasy life. Other people have written in depth guides on skills, combat, etc. And these guys are awesome for doing so. I recommend browsing about and reading a few. They helped me alot when I first started, and you can always message me if you have a question or two. I'm not too experienced yet, but I'll always lend what little advice I can provide. ^_^

    CIAR DUNGEON BESTIARY

    Beginner

This is where players go after they master Alby. Decent cash for starting players and a friendly monster enviroment. The boss is intimidating, but if you keep the pressure on him, it's not so bad. Be careful because there is one room with archers on the second floor.

    Goblins
Goblins are rather easy. They should go down in a few swings.

    Poison Goblins
A little stronger than a normal goblin, but still you should be able to take them out in a swing or two. Defend or counter if needed.

    Archers
Annoying little buggers. If you can get close to one targeting you then it's easy to take it out. If it is far away, put up defense and walk towards it. A shield will nullify most of their damage.

    Normal

Normal is very similar to beginner except all the monsters are now grown up. This dungeon is meant for small partys because it contains mix rooms. Goblins will multi aggro and it causes a real pain, even for more advanced warriors. All the monsters are the same, despite being older with buffed stats.

    Basic

Ciar basic is where the training wheels come off for warriors. It takes alot of time and practice, but once you get down the basics, Ciar basic is a cakewalk.

    Snakes
Each snake has a different color. White ones being the strongest, Brown the weakest, and blue in the middle. The secret to snakes is that multicolored snakes will gang up on you. The best way to kill them is to grab a corner away from other snakes, and pull with a magic spell. Then fight normally with counter, switch to defend, strike for a knockback, counter, defend, etc.

    Ratmen
These guys can be insanely annoying, or insanely easy depending on how you tackle them. The best way to take them on is using an ice spell to pull them, as soon as you shoot them with the ice, prepare counter and wait for them to hit you. As soon as you knock them back with counter, prep another ice. If you're fast enough, you'll never be touched. They are a pain to normal melee because they are very tricky and switch combat skills all the time.

    Lagos
Lagos are really fun to fight once you figure them out. Use the normal counter/defense/attack cycle against them. But the cool thing is, you can pull them together. They will follow you when in defense stance, allowing you to group them up. Use a breakdance combo and you'll mess up the entire room. It looks really cool also. I can show anyone who doesnt know breakdance how to do it. Other members can show you also... I know Itano's real good at it.

Beware though. There are two types of lagos in Ciar Basic. The wimpy green sickle Lagos, and the slightly less wimpy but still wimpy blue spiked lagos. Spikes lagos are pretty much the same, except they have a high damage output. Highly HIGHLY recommended you have a kite shield out if you plan on taking these bad boys on.

Different colored lagos will gang up on you together. So in multi color rooms, take them one at a time. grab a corner and pull them with spells.

    Metal Skeletons
Omg... I freaking hate these things. Fire counter is probably your best bet. They have passive defense, so normal attacks don't work well on them. Use a fireball to lure them, they should just stand there with a skill on their head. If they do this, just keep charging up fireballs. Once they start moving towards you shoot them, hit counter to see what they are gonna do next. Usually they will go defensive, but sometimes they will run at you and even try to smash you. These guys are pain in the ass. But, you'll get them after a little practice.

    Intermediate

Inter. is not much different from Basic. If you get a pass for this and drop it, you should jump up in the air and roundhouse kick yourself in the head for passing up all this delicious EXP. Besides some rooms being mixed, the only notable difference are three new monsters.

    Dealing with multi aggro

Multi aggro can be a pain. Rule one, is you never stand near a corner. Their is a certain spot that is good for dealing with aggro. It will allow you to intercept and flee to safety at a high rates.

See as I am directly below the center of the room. I have options of sprinting south east, south west, or to the northern corners depending on which has a safer chance of no aggro.

Now, where is the best spot to go? You have a split second to make a decision. In this case. The lower left, and right corners will do. The lower right probably being safer.

    Another example:

My ally is fighting one on the left side. I would be safer going to the lower left corner. If she were to fall in combat, then I would have two on my hands. I'd rather avoid such a situation.

    I multi aggro'd, am I screwed?

In most cases, it is very hard to fight off more than one attacker. Lagos will just dual attack you. You can try and windmill, go on defense, and pray one of the lagos goes into defense stance. They are highly aggressive, and difficult to deal with at times.

Ratmen are tricky... if you firebolt one, it has a high chance of using defense, counter, or windmill and just stand there. This gives you time to deal with the first one. You have to be quick and strategic though. If they both go into a defensive position, windmill is your best bet. Hit both of them, and go defensive. If they come at you with a smash, cancel and hit the attacker. If they both charge, you might be screwed.

Snakes are alot like lagos. They are aggressive and occasionally go defensive. Hope that you get lucky.

    Blue Ratmen
Basically the same as normal ratmen. The only difference is these ones hit harder and have less hp. They also multi aggro. Don't stand next to them. Grab a corner, if you're with a friend grab a separate corner. Try to stay away from each other because of windmill from the ratmen.

    Burgundy Lagos
Ugh if you don't have a kite shield, these will hit you very hard. They are just like Blue spike lagos, except they multi aggro. Honestly, I'd recommend you start off with a smash, followed by a counter, and then firebolt them. Just keep using fire counter 'til they die.

    Black Snakes
White snakes with higher attack power and lower defense. They multi aggro as well. Just be careful and you should be fine.

    Etc.

    Golems
I suck at golems... The best resource I would suggest is a youtube video or someone who can take these things solo.

Skills that should be taken into consideration

    Windmill
Ok, it's been debated and many players ask. Well...  "I don't use windmill much Sera. Why should I bother?"
Alright lets look at it in depth
~Gives small boosts to strength and will, and eventually large ones later (2 stat boosts for 1 skill is rare)
~Is melee combats only AOE and is fairly good at exp farming later because of it's large radius
~It's charge time improves slightly at rank 9 (Skills charging faster? Giggity!)
~It's range drastically changes from rank 5 to rank 1
~If you wait too long... you may never rank it up due to your toughness constantly increasing with AP spent
~You can combo it with N+ for a focused AoE, and it just makes you look pro when you take at a whole room with one swing
    ~It looks freaking awesome

    Counterattack
Rank C counter is awesome. People commonly use magic counter which involves heavy use of the counter skill. Ranking counter  to rank C makes counter drain 1 stamina per second instead of 2. This is a huge huge upgrade and is essential for anyone who  makes use of heavy magic counter techniques.

    Production mastery
1 AP for 10 stamina until the mid ranks? How could you turn such a delicious offer down.

    Healing and First aid
If you're into dungeons and combat alot, I really recommend at least rank F. These skills are to help out teamies and they  benefit you by a substantial amount in the end. I can't fathom not having these skills myself. I'm not heal based, but I have rank F in both, and I don't ever regret it.

N+ is a secret hidden ninja pirate guacamole technique of l337 haxor amazingness

What is N+? N+ is an amazing skill technique that allows you to get an extra hit out of your weapons. It requires a bit of  practice, but when you have it down, it's an amazing skill that will be your friend forever (Until the lag monster arises).

First I like to take these precautions:
    1. Turn auto attack off (N+ cannot be done with auto attack on)
    2. Click on the snowflake thing in the bottom left, options, game tab, turn reserve attack off. This gives you a bit more  control of your swings and is really up to you. Call it personal preference, but I say it's alot easier.

I'll give 2 examples of weapons I have used alot.

    With a bast. sword:
Swing one time, wait for your character to twirl their blade regaining balance for the next strike. During the twirl double  click and you should swing two more times and cause knock back.

    With a Warhammer:
Swing once, wait for the hammer to lower all the way to the ground before you pull it back up, click twice, and watch the 3  hit combo.

    With a 2hander/Claymore
Swing one time, wait for your character to start to pull the blade back up and swing twice more. 3 hits with one of these beasts in freaking delicious.

    Breakdance Combo

Also for the more adept and daring, you can do a N+ windmill combo (Me and my friends jokingly call it the Breakdance Combo),  In order to do the breakdance combo you have to N+, but as you enter your second swing (With one of the aforementioned  weapons) click windmill. It should begin to charge, and finish before the enemy regains balance. It is difficult to time  correctly, and is alot easier with rank 9 windmill (Due to faster charge time). If you get good at this, you can move enemies  into windmill positions.

Thanks for reading I love you all!! <3

    Hybrid Warrior Guide

This guide is for warriors that dont want to have any weaknesses. but are willing to sacrifice not being the strongest at any specific skill.

Ok first you should of course get all these skills when you start to become a hybrid warrior.

Counter (Obtained by using the keyword "Skill" on Dillys)

    Smash (Obtained by Quest/Trefor)

    Combat Mastery (Obtained at start)

Critical Hit (Obtained by doing a Critcal hit)

Windmill (Obtained by Ranald, keyword "Skill.")

    Defense (Obtained by Quest/Ranald)

!Warning! DO NOT LVL SHARP MIND PAST RANK F! ( Obtained at start)

    Ice/Fire (Obtained by book)

There are also optional skills which you only get to rank F because 1. it costs no AP(Ability Points) 2. cause you just wanna have it for useful maters.

First aid = 1 AP (Obtained by Dillys after getting treatment)

Heal = 2 AP (Obtained by a book)

Resting = 0 AP (Gotten by a quest)

Prudoction Mastery = (Nonvice) or lvl if you want stamina till starts counting more then 1 AP

Range Attack = 0 AP (Equip a Bow to obtain)

!Should become a 10 year old if planning to play for a long time, If you are planning to play for a shot while become 17!

Now you can either become a max combat then mix into hybrid, or you can do what i did and take them in order then lvl combat mastery.

    (My Way)

1st. Rank up Combast mastery to rank B. While youre doing this you shoulddo EVERY single quest you get, even the weak ones because they are good exp at that lvl.

2nd. After ranking up Combat Mastery to rank b you should bring Up Crit hit up to rank B. "After you do this you hsould be able to 1 Hit a bear for the title if you have a good strong weapon like claymore, and its strongly upgraded.

3rd. Now this is when you Go back to Combat mastery and bring it to rank 9~6

4th. Now you can either Bring up Windmill or Defense to rank B. (Only lvl def if youre gonna use 2H or not use a kite shield)

5th Now this is when you rank up Smash to rank B, As you can see were getting everything to rank B cause youre gonna get eveything balanced.

6th This is when you Rank up Counter its an amazing skill against strong monsters, but also good when doing regular mobs.

7th Now that you have everything ranked up to Rank B Except probably defense, You should get everything to Rank 9 because from A to 9 there is a huge change, You can rank up anything in any order that you chose, buts must be rank 9.

By the time you're here you would have alreay rebirthed or is actually very high lvl

8th now you get everything to rank 6 but save some points for g2 so when we can get final hit.

Thats my guide ty Stick out tongue

I guess this would be and Interface/Skill guide.  I dont know if this is even what you are allowing.  I posted this guide this morning in another post then thought, why not post it for the contest.  Officials (I do not think I will) but if I am 1st place, make me 2nd place.  I dont want to win 1st place but second (that is if my guide is good enought to win 2nd place).  I think this guide is very important as it is a large part of the games social activities.  To only do technical manuals on how to use skills, lv your char, do a dungeon or such, I think that guides for how to understand the social and economical aspects of the game are just as important.  The Guide is a bit fast put down, as I typed it up this morning not with the intent of submition and want to put in in the constest before someone decided to copy it as there own.  I am sure no one has that idea but I did say the guide was free for whom ever to use and post to there hearts content.  The original post was titled "Buy High, Sell Low - How To Be A Trader", kinda as a joke with the Buy High, Sell Low part.  You can verify that it was posted buy me, JohnWinters.  Well Enjoy!

A TRADERS GUIDE TO SURVIVING THE MARKET PLACE - JohnWinters

Hello and welcome to JohnWinters bit of advice about prices and surviving the market place.  I see people complain about prices so I will POP my little bit of MMORPG Market Place advice to you so you all can understand how the world of Buying/Selling/Trading goes in these games.  It pretty simple but alot of people get furstraited cause they don't fully understand.

All deals will be refered to mainly as trades in this guide.  I dont care if your paying money for the items, the deal is a trade.  Your trading money for goods and or services.

In a trade there are 2 things that make the value in the trade and decided if its a deal or not, Yours and Theirs PERSONAL VALUE.  What is personal value you ask?  Personal value is what you beleave the item is worth or what your willing to pay/sell it for.  When you trade if the 2 Personal Values do not match, then there is no deal.  Personal value usually has a High and Low.  Lets just do an example (this may be way off from current value beleaf and is only an example).

The trade is for a small green gem.  You want it and they got it.  Your personal value is at a low of 5gold to a high of 20gold.  Their personal value is at a low of 10gold and high of 30gold.  They start out with their high and you start out with your low.  Through smart bartering and going back and forth you even out at 15gold.  Deal was made and both sides are happy.  Now say Their personal value is low 30 and high 50.  No matter how much bartering, beggin or pleading you do the deal wont be made since your high does not even match their low.

I hear people say "but their selling their items at an unreasonalbe price or for way to much money.... their crazy".  Well maybe they are, but thats their personal value.  To them the value of the item is far more then what you are willing to pay for it.

Now personal value can be swayed but supply and demand.  Lets say small green gems are near to impossible to find. You really want it, but so do many others.  A week ago they were selling for 20gold each but now you cant find them anywere and this guy is selling it for 100g.  You say its outragiouse but were are you going to go.  If there impossible to find then you have 2 choices buy it from them or try to find one which could take for ever.  Your personal value now raises and you buy from them for 100g.  Now say next week you found one and go to sell it for 150g, but you see someone next to you selling it for 20g.  WTF you say, that to low, how can they do it?  Simple they want to sell theirs before you do, they have lots of them, or they are no longer as rare as they were.  What ever the case their personal value is lower then yours so their price is lower then yours.  So you break down (as mad as you may be) and sell your for 15g to make the sale.

The last examples showed the final factor that molds a persons personal value and that is Timing.  One week something is new, rare, or just plain popular and is selling for lots of money.  You get one a week later and go to sell it and find that everyone has it and is trying to sell theirs to cash in and make a quick buck.  Last week when it was harder to get was selling for 100,000g.  Next week when everyone has them its selling for 100g.  If you had had one last week you would have made 100x more money, but your timeing was bad.  It happens to all of us.

Now if you learn the system, you can make quite a bit as a Trader.  I should know, thats how I made millions in most of the games I have played.  I suck at farming or finding the good stuff.  So I went with my trader savy and made lots of money buying low and selling high.  Know what products are used for, how easy or hard it is to get them, keep an eye out for the players just wanting to make some quick cash, and knowing the markets state you can make lots of money in any game.  Also doing trades (as in item trading not money) opens up your inventory possiblity.  Most players tend to be low in cash and high in products, so offering them the option of trade at usually 1.5x or double the cash purchase value tends to get you a good inventory.  Tradeing twice the value of an item with items is most often acceptable when you have no money.  Just be aware of what your getting so that your not filling your inventory with hard to sell or useless stuff.  Just cause its worth something does not mean it is worth something.

MYTH of SCAMMING:  Ok you are not scamming people by selling your item for a high price, trading for lots of stuff, or buying items cheap from someone that may or may not know common values.  Scamming is were you intentinally trick someone out of an item or money.  If you go into a trade and buy and item for a really high price and find out you could have gotten it for far less, you were NOT scammed, you just did not know the market.  If you sell an item for pennies and relized afterwords that you could have sold it for millions, you were NOT scammed, you did not know the market.   If you give money for an item and its not what you were suppose to get or you did not get it, then YOU DID get scammed.  If you sell and item for a to good to be true price and dont get your money, then YES YOU GOT scammed.  KNOW YOUR MARKET PLACE and ITEMS.  If you do this you will not get scammed.  Be carefull of to-good-to-be true deals or people that act shaddy when they go to trade.   Never do a DROP trade or DROP game cause you will probly lose that item.  If they want you to follow them any place other then to the bank, then be aware it may be a scammer.  But if the deal stays true to what was agreed (no matter if it is fair after the fact) its NOT a scam, just poor bussiness on yours or their part.

Ok now that you know, good luck in your all your trades and have fun running your bussiness.

    Part Time Jobs

    Getting Part-Time Jobs

To get a part-time job you go to one of the various NPC (non-player characters) located in every city. Start a conversation with the shop owner and select the keyword “Part-Time Jobs”, if you have arrived at the right time of day you will be given a quest scroll to begin one of the many types of jobs. Part-Time jobs are a great way to level up and make a profit if you are a low level player. After completing your objective(s) return to the NPC and click on Report Now (this option is not available until a certain amount of time after the job was accepted). You will then be prompted to choose one of the rewards available from completion. The more times you do a part-time job the better the rewards you will be offered. It is best and most beneficial to do part-time jobs on Tuesdays (Beltane) because you are offered better rewards than usual. The more you do part-time jobs, the better rewards and harder jobs you will receive. This guide as stated before only covers the beginner rank. For more information go to http://www.mabinogiworld.com/wiki/index.php?title=Part-time_Jobs. This guide covers the Beginning Rank of each Part-Time

    Basic Combat Techniques and Skills

Combat is one of the most important factors in Mabinogi, it lets you enter and complete dungeons, battle strong powerful foes, and complete quests to help you make a profit and gain experience points (EXP). The three basic kinds of skills are Melee, Ranged, and Magic. Melee is the basic principle of getting up close and personal with and enemy and using a sword to attack you enemy. Ranged which I’m not going to get to much into is the art of using a crossbow or bow to attack your enemies from a ranged distance. Magic is the power in which you use your supply of Mana (indicated in the blue bar on your lower user interface) to direct a magical bolt of either fire, ice, electric. I’ll start out with an in depth introduction to the basic combat system. To engage in combat it is recommended that you have a melee weapon and know the four basic combat skills.  All players begin with the skill combat mastery. This skill provides higher HP (indicated by the pink bar on your lower use interface) and increased strength in battle. You can level up this skill by battling monsters of you level. The second skill is the Smash Skill. The smash skill initiates a powerful attack that can break through your enemies defense skills.  (indicated by a shield above your enemies head). This skill can be obtained by talking to Lassar the magic teacher inside the school in Tir Chonaill. You should receive a book about the smash skill and you can use the Advance Reading portion to understand the skill for the first time. The third skill which I consider most important is the Counterattack skill. You can obtain the counterattack skill by talking to Dilys the healer house’s owner, using the keyword skills. Counterattack deflects you enemies attack (yes smash skill too) and deals back a certain percentage of damage back at them. This skill is mainly leveled up by using it in battle. The fourth and least important to me is the Defense Skill. To obtain the skill talk to Ranald the schools combat leader in Tir Chonaill, and use the keyword skills. You should receive a book about the defense skill. After advance reading you should gain knowledge of the defense skill. The defense skill pretty much put you in a place where you still receive damage but also receive a percentage less than you would normally gain.

Now I will explain how to use the four combat skills tactically to easily relinquish your opponent. If you see an enemy using no skill at all but is not running at you or aware of you, you should use the regular combat skill and attack it and then back away. Then observe what it’s next move is. If it is going to use the smash skill or it is charging you, immediately activate the counterattack skill. If it is slowly walking around using the defense skill, cancel the counterattack skill and activate your smash skill and give it a taste of it’s own medicine. If in the event that it uses the counterattack skill you in turn should also use  it and wait until it changes to a new skill. If it uses defense you use smash, if it uses smash or regular attack you use Counterattack, it’s as simple as that.

This section will explain the base skills of magic (this does not cover lightning bolt or enchant). The most common and easy to use of the three magic skill that will be explained is the Ice Bolt Spell. To obtain the skill have to buy the Icebolt Origin book, or take Lassar’s first magic class. The icebolt spell is a stackable magic skill. That means that you can have up to five spells ready to fire at once (you can only fire one at a time). After three inflicted hits on the enemy he will be knocked down, this is your chance to restack and prepare for the next assault. If you are knocked down you will lose any icebolt spells that you have stacked up, which is a big waste of Mana. The second kind of spell is the Fire Bolt Spell. You can obtain this skill by taking Lassar’s second magic class (only available after completing the first on), or alternatively buying the Firebolt Book from Lassar and using the Advanced Reading option. The firebolt spell is a stackable spell in the way that it does not crate multiple shots around you, it gradually creates a large ball of flame which increases in strength as it’s size increases. All magic spells are capped at 5 stacks. Firebolt will automatically knock down you enemy, in which time you should either begin rebuilding your fire or starting and icebolt chain. Be aware firebolt consumes more Mana than the icebolt. The third and very important skill is the Healing Spell. You can obtain this skill by purchasing the Healing Spell book from Lassar in the magic school. The healing spell consumes a lot of Mana (12 for rank F) and stamina (indicated by the yellow bar in the lower user interface). The heal spell can either heal you or any people around you. The spell works much better if the target is using the rest skill. The heal spell automatically stacks 5 casts on when you use it

    Introduction

Mabinogi is Free-to-Play game that has a few added features such as the Fantasy Life Package to further satisfy the games experience. There are a variety of things you can do in Mabinogi like Part-Time Jobs and Story Line Quests (only accessible after purchasing on of the four service packages from the Premium Shop).

    Skills

Skills are one of the other basic building blocks of Mabinogi. Skills can range from combat to making clothes. Some of the most essential skills are Combat and Production Skills. This section will go over the benefits and down sides to most of the Generation 1 skills and tell you how to obtain them.

    Combat

These are the available combat skills.

    Melee

    • Combat Mastery
    • Counter Attack
    • Defense
    • Smash
    • Windmill

    Magic

    • Ice Bolt
    • Fire Bolt
    • Electric Bolt
    • Healing Spell

    Ranged

This guide will not cover the ranging skills for the reason that they are all not relesed yet.

    Combat Mastery

Combat Mastery is obtained as a free skill when you start the game. This skill is the basic mechanism for attack and is a passive skill (Passive Skill means that is always in use). To use combat mastery you hover your mouse above the target you wish to attack. Leveling up this skill costs a lot of AP (ability points). You gain experience points by attacking and relinquishing monsters of your own character level or higher.

    Counter Attack

Counter Attack is obtained by completing the Malcom’s Ring quest or alternatively talking to Dilys (found at the Healer’s House north of Tir Chonaill) using the keyword “Skills”. The counter attack skill is not a passive skill and is activated by pressing the skills icon (which can be easily placed on your F1-12 hotkey shortcuts). Counter attack deflects your enemies attack while also dealing a percentage of the enemies damage that would have been inflicted on you. Counter Attack is leveled up by using it.

    Defense

Defense is obtained by talking to Ranald (the combat instructor outside the front of the Tir Chonaill School in the south-west area) using the keyword “Skills”. The defense skill basically puts you in a protective mode where an attack will only inflict a fraction of the full damage. Defense is leveled up by using it.

    Smash

Smash is obtained by completing the first “Save the Villager Quest”. Smash is not a passive skill. When used on an enemy it inflicts a greater deal of damage than a normal combat attack would. Smash will automatically knock down your enemy. Smash is especially useful because it can penetrate through a target’s defense skill and still knock it back or down. Smash is leveled up through usage.

    Windmill

Windmill is obtained by talking to Ranald using the keyword “Skills” after learning the defense skill. Windmill is not a passive skill. It takes away 10% of your own health and attacks all enemies within a radius around your character. The windmill skill’s radius increases when you reach Rank 5 and Rank 1 (which is at the moment impossible due to the Rank 6 skill cap as of generation 1). Windmill is a skill leveled up by it’s usage.

    Magic

Magic is covered in the Combat Skills and Techniques Section above.

    skybon:

GUIDE on SOLOING GOLEM in CIAR DUNGEON [Combat]

     Soloing Golem !

For small golem in Ciar beginners I have a lot of different ways. One way I do small golem is...

This is also available for Ciar Normal, as long as processed properly and with a little bit of luck.

    First things first !

Initial ! Attack it right away !

    Activate counter !

    Observe !

    1) If the golem is rushing towards you, it's helpful that you have a counter on.

    2) if the golem uses a skill, cancel counter and run away !

2.a) If you notice that the golem is using stomp, hold shift and click away from golem ! Then activate counter as long as you're in a reasonable distance ! Then Repeat observe step

2.b) If you notice that the golem is using smash(running towards you with a skill), attack with normal combo and activate counter ! Then Repeat observe step

2.c)  If you notice that the golem is using defense(walking around with a skill), activate smash and boom!  and activate counter ! Then Repeat observe step

2.d) If you notice that the golem is using counter(standing with a skill), You can do...

2.d.1) run away ! and activate counter and wait till it comes to you !
2.d.2) magic ! bam ! woot ! Use Fire, as I prefer, then quickly activate counter ! Repeat observe step

    *users note*

for me, after I countered golem. I activate Lightning.

If the golem's on counter, I just hit him with lightning then I use counter...

If golem's using Normal attack, I hit him with lightning right before he hits me then I'll quickly 1 hit him (yes, only 1 hit is available since it's considered as the "final hit" of your combo, so after you hit lightning then attack, he will get knocked back)....

If the golem's using smash, I deactivate lightning and then normal attack him, and then counter...

If the golem's on defense, deactivate lightning then smash all the way then counter...

     ..................

Apparently, it's kind of hard with the Basic Golem since it has PD (Passive Defense). Although you can just try our lame tactics XD

    Fire.. blah blah blah...

    Counter... lol lol lol...

    Fire.. bleh bleh bleh...

    Counter... lewls lewls lewls...

*note you may not die here, if you're lucky ;D

    *

I do not prefer Defense unless you have a Kite shield and Rank 5+ Defense skill and some godly armor...

Although you can use defense on beginner golem as long as you have a round shield at least

    I.                  Introduction

Hello everyone, this is Mystrion.  Many of you may know me from KartRider, but I am currently playing Mabinogi, and I am residing in the Ruairi server (at least until KartRider comes back Stick out tongue).  I’ll be writing a General Quest guide to help people keep track of their progress, and see what quests they’ll have to do eventually.  I will admit that guide is incomplete, and I will not include some quests such as the part-time jobs (since there are already a lot of guides on it) but I’ll include most of the basic quests.  Well, here goes!

    II.               Tips on Questing

First of all, when you complete a quest, make sure to press ‘Q,’ go to the quest that you completed, and click the yellow button that says “Complete” in order to delete the quest and receive the reward.  When you are doing quests, I highly recommend this.  Press M to open your Minimap, click and hold the bottom left corner, and drag it as far as it can go.  That way, your map will be about 4 times bigger, letting you see the exact locations of where you have to do quests.  Note that this is VERY IMPORTANT, and will save you a lot of time when trying to get to a certain area to do a quest.  Also, note that the boss quests recommend you to be a certain level.  However, you don’t have to follow them.  You can get friends to help you kill the bosses, although make sure you get the last blow on them (set the Finish rule to ‘Anyone in the Party’).  With that set aside, let’s get on with the guide!

    III.           Introductory Quest

As soon as you enter the Elemental Forest after a brief talk with Nao, you receive your first quest:

    Quest: Nao’s Letter of Introduction

Step 1: Go to Tir Chonail and deliver the letter to Duncan.

How: Exit the Elemental Forest by going to where the quest diamond is to go to Tir Chonail.  When you warp in after the cutscene, you should see Duncan.  Talk to him to complete the quest.

    Reward: 100 Experience Point

    IV.            The Quest Division

From here one, you will receive two different quest chains at the same time: The Friendship Quest Chain, and the Tutorial Quest Chain.  You will also receive a few other quests regarding skills, while your actions will also bring along some quests, such as obtaining the windmill skill.  It does not matter which one you do first, although some quests are recommended to be completed before doing others, such as doing the Going to School quest before doing the Rescue Resident quest.

    V.               Friendship Quest Chain

*All of these quests are in order.  You will receive them one after the other.*

    Quest: Rescue Resident

    Step 1: Talk with Trefor

How: Walk North of Tir Chonail towards the quest diamond.  You should eventually see Trefor near some brown foxes.  Talk to him to complete this step.  Note that when you talk to him, he will give you knowledge about the Smash skill so you can use it.

Step 2: Hunt 5 Young Brown Foxes

How: Kill 5 brown foxes around you in anyway you desire.  Regular brown foxes work as well.

Step 3: Rescue a town resident from Alby Dungeon

How: Go North and make a right at the intersection to reach Alby Dungeon.  From here, make sure you drop Trefor’s Pass, and nothing else.  From there on, complete it like an Alby Beginner Dungeon (it REALLY helps to get the Defense skill, but it isn’t absolutely mandatory at this point).  When you complete the dungeon, the lost resident will ask you if you want gold or an item as a reward.  If you choose item, you get Tork’s Hunting Gloves.  If you choose gold, you receive 1k gold.

    Step 4: Talk with Trefor

How: Once you finish Step 3, you should automatically warp next to Trefor.  Talk to him to complete the quest.  Note that when you talk to him, he will give you 100% experience for the smash skill so you can level it to Rank F.

Reward: 300 Experience Point, 1800 Gold, 3 Ability Point

    Quest: Save my Sheep

Step 1: Talk with Deian from the Pasture

How: From the Tir Chonail Square, head NE towards the Grassland (use the mini-map to help you find it).  When you get there, talk to Deian.

Step 2: Guard the Sheep from the Gray Wolves

How: If you accept his challenge, you will automatically be teleported to a map filled with 20 sheep and 10 gray wolves.  You must constantly keep the gray wolves away from the sheep for 5 minutes, as the grey wolves like to attack and kill the sheep, and make sure that no less than 5 sheep are alive when you hit the deadline.  When you are done, you are automatically teleported next to Deian.

    Step 3: Talk with Deian

How: Simply talk to him to complete the quest.

Reward: 900 Experience Point, 2600 Gold, 3 Ability Point

    Quest: Malcolm’s Ring

Step 1: Talk with Malcolm at the Tir Chonail General Shop

How: Go to the General Shop (just SSE of the Tir Chonail Square) and talk to Malcolm.  Note that he will teach you the Counterattack Skill if you have not learned it yet; it will be very helpful, if not essential, to complete this quest, as well as being helpful in all situations.

Step 2: Defeat the Giant Spider in Alby Dungeon and get the Ring

How: Go to Alby Dungeon (you should know the way by now) and drop Malcolm’s Pass at the Altar.  Run the dungeon like an Alby Beginner Dungeon with one slight modification: the boss is a Giant Golden Spidering, which takes minimal damage from all hits.  But fear not!  You now have Counterattack, so use that every time the spiderling is pushed back unless you just used it to push the spiderling back, and eventually your attacks will do more and more until you defeat it.  As soon as you defeat it, you get Malcolm’s Ring.

Step 3: Give the Ring to Malcolm

How: Go to the General Shop and talk to Malcolm to give him the ring and finish the quest.  Note that you cannot give the ring to Nora, despite the item description.

Reward: 1500 Experience Point, 1700 Gold, Money Bag 1, 3 Ability Point

    Quest: Duncan’s Praise

Step 1: Talk with Chief Duncan

How: Go to the Chief’s House (come on, you remember where that is, don’t you?) and talk to Duncan.  From there, he will tell you to talk to one of these four NPCs:  Malcolm, Nora, Trefor or Deian.

    Step 2: A Talk with <insert name here>

How: Go to the specific NPC mentioned and talk to them to receive their friend title and complete the quest.

Reward: 300 Experience Point, 1200 Gold

    VI.            Tutorial Quest Chain

*Note that these quests MAY NOT BE IN ORDER due to other random quests appearing as the chain is progressing*

    Quest: Go to School

Step 1: Talking with Ranald at Tir Chonail School

How: From the Tir Chonail Square, head SW to go to the School (use the mini-map to help you find it).  When you get there, talk to Ranald to complete the quest.  Note that he will give you Defense Rank F when you talk to him, which is an essential skill in the beginning.  You should complete this quest before you start Rescue Resident.

    Reward: 600 Experience Point

    Quest: Let’s Gather Green Gem

Step 1: Deliver 1 Small Green Gem to Bebhinn

How: Get a Small Green Gem (you should have gotten at least one from the white spiders in the Rescue Resident Quest.  If not, from the Tir Chonail Square, head NE to go to the Graveyard (use the mini-map to help you get there) and kill some white spiders there until you get one.  Beware of the uncommon red spider though).  When you get one, go into the Bank (just NW of the square) and talk to Bebhinn and give her the Small Green Gem to complete the quest.

Reward: 500 Experience Point, Guide Book for Quest Vol. 2

    Quest: Gathering Berries

    Step 1: Talking with Dilys

How: From the Tir Chonail Square, head N to go to the Healer’s House (use the mini-map to help you find it).  Go inside and talk to Dilys.

Step 2: Deliver a Berry to Dilys

How: Find a berry bush (there are a lot near the Healer’s House) and keep whacking it until a berry falls out (if you run out of stamina before you get a berry, drink a stamina pot or wait and try again until you get one).  When you get one, pick it up and talk to Dilys again to give her the berry and complete the quest.

Reward: 800 Experience Point, Stamina 30 Potion 5

    Quest: Sheep-shearing

    Step 1: Talking with Deian

How: From the Tir Chonail Square, head NE towards the Grassland (use the mini-map to help you find it).  When you get there, talk to Deian.

Step 2: Delivering 5 bundles of wool to Deian

How: Use a gathering knife (or your sword, but make sure you aren’t holding anything in your other hand) and click on sheep to shear their wool.  Keep in mind that if they move while you are shearing them, you will fail.  Keep doing this until you obtain 5 wool, then talk to Deian to give him the wool and finish the quest.

Reward: 1500 Experience Point, 300 Gold, Wing of the Goddess 1

    Quest: Gather Cobweb

Step 1: Convey 5 pieces of Cobweb to Malcolm

How: From the Tir Chonail Square, head NE to go to the Graveyard (use the mini-map to help you get there) and pick up 5 cobweb that the white spiders flood the map with.  After that long and hard task, go to the General Shop (just SSE of the Tir Chonail Square) and talk to Malcolm to give him the cobweb and complete the quest.

Reward: 1500 Experience Point, 550 Gold, Guide Book for Tailoring

    Quest: Repairing an Item

Step 1: Request a repair to Ferghus

How: From the Tir Chonail Square, head SE to go to the Blacksmith (use the mini-map to help you find it).  Talk to Ferghus and click Repair Item.  Repair anything (come on, SOMETHING should have lost at least 1 durability…) and you complete the quest.

Reward: 2000 Experience Point, Guide Book for Repair

    VII.        Mastery Quest Chain

When you finish the Friendship Quest Series, you should receive these two Mastery Quests, one after the other.

Quest: Do you know Production Mastery skill?

    Step 1: Talk with Alissa

How: Tir Chonail Square, head SE to go to the Windmill (use the mini-map to help you find it).  Talk to Alissa to complete the quest and gain knowledge and 100% experience on the Production Mastery Skill.

Quest: Hunt 1 Brown Grizzly Cub

Quest: Hunt 1 Brown Grizzly Bear

Step 1: Hunt 1 Brown Grizzly Bear

How: If you followed my advice and stayed where you were to find and kill a red bear, just look around there for a brown grizzly bear to find and kill it to complete the quest.  If you didn’t follow my advice though, just go back to where you killed red grizzly cub (you remember where that is, don’t you?).

Reward: 9000 Experience Point, MP 50 Potion 3

Quest: Hunt 1 Black Grizzly Bear

Step 1: Hunt 1 Black Grizzly Bear

How: If you are still on the Dunbarton map, head NE to where you (should have) killed the red bear.  Find a black grizzly bear there, and kill it to complete the quest.

Reward: 10000 Experience Point, Hunter Boots 1

    Quest: Hunt 1 Troll

    Step 1: Hunt 1 Troll

How: Go all the way back to where you killed kobold bandits and look around.  There is only one troll on the map so if you can’t find it after a while, change channels and look for it there.  Eventually, you should find one.  Kill it to complete the quest.

    Quest: Hunt 1 Ogre

    Step 1: Hunt 1 Ogre

How: From where you killed the Troll, go NE to Gairech Hills (use the mini-map to help you find it) and look around (only 1 ogre, just like the troll).  Again, change channels if you can’t find it after a while.  Eventually, you should find it.  Kill it to complete the final quest and get a title. =)

Reward: 15000 Experience Point, Cooking Pot 1

    X.               Travel Quest Chain

Quest: Logging Camp at Dugald Aisle

    Step 1: Talk with Tracy

How: Because this is a travel quest, it requires you to go somewhere far from Tir Chonail.  Head south, and keep going until you reach Dugald Aisle.  From there, keep going until you hit an open area (the center of the map).  From there, you should find Tracy (use the mini-map to help you find him).  Talk to him.
