Chillian, I read your post all the way up near the top of the page, I got lazy and didn't read the other ones, and I tried to delete the Client.exe before while playing the game.... and what happened was that it just ended the game right there... Should I try it again???

Client.exe is the game, so if you stop it while you're playing then yes, the game will end.

What happens in this case is that the client has started, and the first thing it does is try to bring up HackShield. Then it waits for a signal that HS is up. If it never receives that signal, as is the case when HS hangs on updating, it just sits there. But when you try to start the game, the launcher checks to see if the client is already running. When it sees that Client.exe process it assumes that it is, and refuses to start up another one.

So if HS hangs up and you terminate that process, you also need to terminate Client.exe before you can try again.

Sorry to burst your bubble again, but when you said to delete the one for HS, before I even deleted Client.exe, I couldn't find the one for HS. Could that also be my problem?

This also happened to me reciently. My internet host (no idea who) turned off their router so i had no internet. Then the next day it was on but hackshield wouldnt load. I heard that it has to do with unstable internet connection (turn it off, then on again.) Then i went to do other things in life: mowed the lawn, went mushroom hunting, read a book. I came back and it WORKED! Maybe you should just wait it out if you have the problem because lots of people have been having it lately.

Well drahgoon... I've been waiting it out for at least a month and nothing has changed.... I've taken Mabinogi off my computer 8 times and re-downloaded it 8 times and it was the same. I've tried to do anything I could, but everything would just go back to the beginning.

If you have the HackShield box showing up on the lower right hand corner of your screen, then there must be a HS-something process somewhere. It may run as a system process, so make sure you're looking at processes for all users.

What your talking about now is what pops up after I select Game Start... Sorry for not being specific... XD

I was also talking about the Task Manager. You should be looking in the list of processes, not the list of applications.

I think I no longer know what you're talking about. You don't seem to be in the situation you say you are. If the HackShield box comes up and hangs, then there must be an HS---something.exe process in the process list. So I have no idea what's going on with you or what you're really looking at.

At this point, reboot your computer, goto the nexon directory itself (unless you have another nexon game installed), and hit shift-delete and hit yes. C:\Nexon\Mabinogi , note this will not delete your screenshots.

 

This will delete everything in the mabinogi directory.

 

Next, get a fresh download from nexon's website http://mabinogi.nexon.net/Downloads/Client.aspx and install from that.

 

If it still doesn't work after this, then your have something else on your computer that is outside of anyone on this forums capacity to help.

Go to My Computer through either the Start menu or the desktop icon (if it's there), then open up the C: drive.
