Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

Have either of you tried the "Search" feature? Obviously not or you wouldn't be posting here.

There are 86 other posts all with threads that list the solution to this problem.

    Try this:

Delete ALL Mabinogi folders from your computer: there should be two of them; one in C:\Program Files\Nexon\ and one in your My Documents folder.

Reboot your machine, then restart the install launcher, CHANGE THE DEFAULT INSTALL PATH (mine is C:\Program files\Nexon1\)

    and continue with the install.

    Mabinogi should install properly then.

Huh? I dont get it how do you change the default install path? And if you take all the Mabinogi folders off your computer, the install launcher wont be there anymore?

Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

Ah, i have the same issue, and it never gives me the option to choose an install path. it just starts out opening the (i assume) game launcher, says the path is invalid, and shuts down. it then sticks the folder in my my documents file, but there's nothing in the C:, and i don't have maple story or anything else installed.

Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

The installer should ask you for the path when you are installing it~ Just change it to something else~

Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

That's the problem actually. The installer doesn't do anything. just opens right to the launcher, I can see the 'start game, manual download patch, news' things in the background, there's a box that says the path is invalid, and closes. Then it makes a file in the my documents file with an error report in it.

There's never any installing that happens, no option to pick where to put things, nothing.

Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

    I have the same problem! So far I've;

    1. Downloaded the client (from http://mabinogi.nexon.net/Downloads/Client.aspx, default MabinogiSetup.exe)

    2. Run this file.

    3. It blips a black screen then immediately goes to a launcher screen with a box stating the title of this thread. Behind the box I see "Notices & Updates" and "Featured Items".

    4. After about 5 seconds it closes on its own.

I will look around a bit and see if I can figure this out. If not, maybe I'll try Pirates Online instead.

Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

Sorry I can't add anything constructive, but I'm having the same problem.

    Downloaded the software.

    Double clicked the icon.

    Invalid Path.

I like how all the people not having this problem assume we haven't "tried to search the forums". I've searched the forums and tried your solutions and none work, so instead of acting like "know-it-all jerks", be a little supportive. =)

Re: The Path of Mabinogi Installation is Invalid

I did what you suggested Lythanda. I could only find the folder in My Docs, as I didn't even have a Nexon folder. I even created a Nexon folder to see if it would put one there. I just rebooted and restarted the client. Same error. Still no "change the default install path" option. BTW this is the first post I read by you and I don't like it. Basically I feel double stupid now because your advice doesn't work for me. User error, right? BS.
