Attention, soldiers!
NxDelta here, with another update from Central Command. Our development team has been hard at work at continuing to build some great new content, so apologies for the recent radio silence. We’ve got some exciting stuff coming down the pipe for COMBAT ARMS that we’ll be sharing with you soon!
In that radio silence, some of you have expressed concerns on the forums that the ban hammer has been idle. While we did not make formal forum posts over the last few weeks – and hold “public executions” so to speak – rest assured that many bans, demotions, and rewards did take place (see posts below).
I also want to clarify our policy on punishments, and address some concerns that some of you have regarding the punishment process. As stated previously, we are aware of the hacks and exploits currently available for the game, and are making progress towards more permanent and effective fixes. However, while we could unleash the big guns, we’re worried about what the military calls “collateral damage.” Hime and the GM team take exceptional care to make sure that innocent players are not punished, and that confirmed abusers are. When we are absolutely sure innocent players will not be affected by the wider-sweeping punishment tools, that’s when we’ll do a little “spring cleaning” (and by “spring cleaning,” I mean “unleash a firestorm”).
Please note the following:
· We will not punish players without sufficient, irrefutable evidence. If you submitted a report and you feel that action was not taken, chances are that insufficient evidence was provided. Contrary to public belief, we will not punish simply every player who is reported, nor do we reward everyone who submits a report. Sufficient evidence must be submitted with the ticket, which we review carefully against each player.
· By this token, if you’ve ever violated the Nexon EULA on an account, please note that that account is and will be subject to punishment (immediately or eventually). Please keep in mind that as with any electronic game, especially one with persistent stat tracking, it’s not inconceivable that the data may record and show past wrongdoing. If you are worried that you may have committed a past offense for which you have not yet been punished, you may want to start over with a clean account.
With that, we want to thank all our fans and legitimate players for their continued support and patience, and reassure you that larger steps are coming soon. Our community is growing quickly, but along with the growing popularity comes the increased hacking issues that are present with all online games. Rest assured that dealing with hackers will always be a priority.
Stay tuned for a new announcement soon, soldiers! Combat is about to get a lot more interesting.
NxDelta, out.
