    GM-Live Event 2: GM Commentary

The first GM-Live event was victorious for Nexon Game Masters despite GM on GM killings. However, the second event was not in the GMs’ favor. Let’s hear what they had to say.

-Hime-: The first event was quite a killing. What happened this time around?

Lallent: I let my MP5 down. [Mimics a sobs] I just really wasn’t completing the kills, basically.

Averix: After the first game, I toned down the patented, “All mines, All the Time,” strategy. Also, the liberal media and global warming are to blame. There were polar bears attacking me as I played.

Crash: Last night we went up against people with KDR’s as high as 3.15. Quite simply some of the best CA players we’ve ever seen played against us last night. While we didn’t win as many games as last time, we certainly held our own against most of the players in the rooms. I can’t think of a game where we weren’t at the very least in the top 4 or 5. The average rank of player we competed with last night was also a lot higher than the first round of games. Also Waverider is not an UMP friendly map… [laughs]. On the plus side though, I managed to kill a fellow GM with a Ninjato so that was cool.

Raven:  I felt like the first GM-Live event had caught the CA community off-guard. But the second time around we had players who were prepared and ready to swarm at the sighting of a GM.

Anstar: I was personally obliterated in the first two rounds but made a comeback on Sand Hog.  The GMs killed each other frequently as well… we’re still determining how intentional that was.

-Hime-: I’m sure the violence toward other GMs was intentional.  Would you all agree that the players last night were more skilled? Was there anything specific from a player you found interesting?

Anstar: Players were sneaky, not running around as much in the open – quite a few of my deaths were from behind my back.

Lallent: That day just wasn’t our day. Everyone loses sometimes… everyone. If there was a player of note it was the one who won in our first match on Waverider. I like him.

Crash: I would agree. I liked the one player from our Gray Hammer match. He made the nicest shot I saw in all the games I was in. He got me in the head with a shotgun midair from pretty far away. Wasn’t a lucky shot either. I was impressed.

Nebel: All of the players that joined were skilled, and I had a lot of fun [laughs].  One Man Army can make things interesting, having so many people in a small room can make you look good or bad… [laughs].  Things may look different depending on the room sizes and game modes, so we’ll see how things turn out in later games.  Great job to everyone that played.  Congrats to the winner of the pistol match. You beat me due to me reloading. [Laughs]

-Hime-: Were you guys worried about hackers and hacking?

Lallent: Hmmm, no not really as we can usually tell and catch them right away and if it is even an issue we can work it out.

Averix: I was definitely looking out for aimbotters and hackers because they are a part of the game.   [Makes a face]

Nebel: It was something that we were expecting, there will always be those bad apples trying to ruin it for the rest of the players.  It can be a bit tough on some players where as we need to kick some people if they are suspicious, so I apologize for kicking any one from the game who was actually legit.

Anstar: I wasn’t worried, but didn’t want the players to have their time wasted and experience of getting to fight us ruined by a few baddies that disrupt the game for everyone.

Raven: I’m not sure GM’s are physically capable of worrying.

-Hime-:  Touché. What are your thoughts on the GM-Live Events?

Averix: I thought it was fun and a great way to interact with the players. They love the game as much as we do so it was good to see that in action.

Nebel: The GM Live events are a good way for us to interact with the community. We hope people enjoy these events.  It also lets players know that there will be changes on the way.

Lallent: I loved it. I thought it was awesome. Getting to play with players is nice.

Anstar: I’m looking forward to more well-balanced matches and great kills as this game grows! I personally enjoy the opportunity to be a headshot target for the enjoyment of the community.

-Hime-: [Laughs] It gives you a break from your normal daily work routine. How differently will you play the next round?

Nebel: We’ll be geared up and ready for the next event, I’ll be gunning for top scores or at least a few more multi kills [laughs].

Lallent: Hmm, I suppose I will need to focus more on one shot-ing players.

Averix: I’m going to be less trusting that a fellow GM won’t shoot me in the head or stab me in the back. They are ruthless killers!

Raven: Probably aim to kill more people, and die fewer times. I think that’s a winning strategy right there.

Anstar: As much armor as possible!  And mines all around my feet!  And a better pistol! And a…well, I can’t say.  Wait until next event!

-Hime-: Well best of luck, Game Masters, on the next round. Soldiers, be prepared for the next event. You may occasionally find the GMs practicing so beware; they may be back with a vengeance!
